10 ай бұрынHere’s a quick video on how to change the oil and filter on a MINI Cooper Hardtop F55 worth the 3 cylinder 1.5l turbo engine. This is the B38 engine, which is shared with the BMW i8. This engine comes in the 3rd Gen (F series) base models. S models come with a B46 or B48, which are a 2l twin scroll turbo, which are also shared with BMW.

B36 is the 1.2L which his only sold in Europe. B38 has 2 versions, one for the i8 hybrid which has a different turbo and I believe piston and rod upgrades for the much higher output. B38 base engine is tuned for economy and marketing purposes, and probably European insurance restrictions and is electronically limited in output above 4000RPM.

Most online sources are pointing me that the F55 1.5 3cyl engine is a B36C which is a variant of the BMW B38, can someone confirm?

Good search says 4.25 liters. That’s what I’ve done for the last 5 changes.
