I know these have been around for a while but I'm totally obsessed with them! The perfect sized cake for 1-2 people and so versatile. I also love how they fit snuggly into these mini boxes too.

So cute. I like to crumb coat my cake the same color as the finished cake. That way if I have a thinn spot the white frosting doesn't show through.

As a money saver, buy some circle cutters and cut out pieces from cakes baked in pans you already have. That's my plan at least.

Can anyone advise about the freezing part? Do you just put them in uncovered?

Georgia, I have a very difficult time in that, when I am ready to put on the crumb coat or final layer (maybe not so much for the final layer because it’s been in the fridge) the cake is so small and lighter than a normal size cake that it moves-I do secure with buttercream underneath. It still moves.

I don't mean to be a spoiler, but I have noticed that in the USA and GB you have really thick and dry layers. In the Balkans where I live we have thin layers and a lot pf cream between wich I find better for eating and harder for decorating
