Very Christmassy scene with the outfits and a very very important subject ! Did not know that the mince pie went back to the 1300s, so interesting. We don't get many mince pies in as I tend to eat all of the goodies that are here so still need to buy ! I love the sound of the M and S ones, I do love M and S food on the whole, but these Tesco ones are cheaper obviously at 25p a pie. Good to hear your review . I wish I had some in now ! ~ Anna ❤👍

This was a bit different for you two but a valuable comparison. I enjoyed hearing the meaning behind the pies (13 ingredients and traditionally in the shape of the manger) - all stuff I didn't know. I also didn't know about the Trafic Light food labeling system - our food labels are very boring and black and white. I think we managed to get our hands on the Tesco ones for a couple of years and they were a delicious treat. I couldn't find them this year but found locally made ones which were pretty good as well. Great review!

We do tend to go to m&s at Christmas for a few tasty treats. We have a bottle of advocart ready and waiting. Great work we enjoyed watching. Love the taste test comparison, I have been 'reviewing' mince pies since November to make sure they are suitable for Christmas not just because I am weak for mince pies, obviously😅. M&S were the ones I settled on, but despite having had a try of various ones from different supermarkets, we don't have a Tesco super close so never tried theirs. I love the idea of Advocaat with mince pies, that sounds very intriguing! If I can be bothered, I love custard with warm mince pies although that is a very rare treat and probably not something I would bother with given all the different snacks and things already around for Christmas. How fascinating - I had no idea about all those historical facts. It wasn't until I was well into my teenage years that I realised that mince pies were a Christmas tradition!! My lovely mum used to make them all year round using mincemeat my grandma had made. 😀 Different times now, I'm far too lazy haha and we generally have them when they've called to me in the Co-op 🤣😃 I do make a few once a year though at my Dads request ♥️ Lots of interesting comparisons of the two pies and proves more expensive doesn't always mean the best - Great video 🤗🤗xx

I love a Christmas mince pie but funny enough could not stand them when I was a kid, now I cannot get enough of them. The butter pastry does really make a difference but the extra cost, is annoying, so the only time we eat those is when they are on offer. The look and the box is completely immaterial to me, it's all about the taste first and price second and I make it a rule to never eat after 18.00 at night but I am going to have to break it tonight, as I need a mince pie! I love a good mince pie. I think I might go and do some more "research" myself. Our first Christmas mince pies started appearing on the shelve in August. 😂 Interestingly the cheapest supermarket mince pies are made in the UK or NZ. The Aldi ones, which won a recent taste test, are made in the Netherlands. Many of the mid-range priced pies are made here or in NZ. The cheapies start off at about $3.50, the mid-range about $6 to $8, and the more expensive are generally from bakeries and about $10+. But my own extensive testing has shown that the very cheapest supermarket brands are good enough 😂 Nice one Nick and Jill. Bit concerned about your choice of Advocat though 😂 Merry Christmas!

Well, Well, Well, what an interesting festive comparisons of mince pies. First of all I’m totally impressed by your Christmas tree and fireplace lanterns. Filming in these indoor conditions is quite difficult but you’ve certainly captured the spirit of the season. Now for the mincers, without doubt the Tesco Finest are the clear winners. Not to say that the M&S are bad but certainly just slightly behind Tesco (every little helps). Could I just say (only a personal opinion), but wouldn’t it have been nice to have some carol music to accompany this film? Take care and enjoy the build up to the big day (personally I’m dreading the whole poxy thing and can’t wait until January 31st). Bloody hate Christmas and New Year!!!
