Awesome video, I'll be implementing those on my unit, thanks to you and the contributors!

Thank you so much. The VRR and integer scaling definitely enhanced the gaming experience. Combining with Lossless Scaling Frame Gen... Cyberpunk on medium at 1000p resolution runs smooth at 80fps with hardly noticeable latency now. 😍

Great video! I pre-ordered my V3 and appreciate the level of detail walking through the changes and updates. Interested if you will have a follow up with some of the recommended changes when running linux. That was one of my reasons for purchasing, great performer in Windows and Linux.

I really want this, the steam deck is great, but I'd love a bigger screen. For now I'll just link my deck to my iPad and use a D9 controller 😊

I received my May 1 and I sent it back May 3 because it wasn’t working. They still haven’t sent me a replacement device and they keep giving me the runaround! Can’t say it’s been a great experience!

That’s not very comforting to hear, have you heard anything since have they not offers a refund?
@coreystill7197

@@johnnyw230 Yes. It took them over a month and a half to seed a replacement unit. Then I opened the box a week ago there wasn’t even a keyboard. So just the table and screen protector. FYI you cannot use this device without the keyboard/stand it gets way too hot. When I reached out to them to let them know, they forgot the keyboard. They literally told me it would take a while until they investigated what happened. I had to wait three days for response email. So I gave them a choice 48 hours or send me a return label for a refund. I had to let them know. I was very dissatisfied with their service. finally, I received a confirmation email saying the keyboard is on the way. I don’t think I’ll be buying from them ever again. This was horrible to deal with. I tried writing a review but it doesn’t show on there site. So good luck if you want to do business with them that’s totally up you. Sorry this was so long.

Does anyone know what setup I would need to buy to connect my switch to it without the dock?

Another question: If using the V3 as your main computer - is there any particular setup or important details for a hub/dock? I imagine a proper dock would allow for output to two monitors, keyboard/mouse, etc. If it's used in that way you can just plop it down on a cooling pad as well. Any experience or advice regarding this?

There are quite a few vertical docking solutions out there. Probably the nicest is the Henge/Brydge range but they are Mac specific. The options are either a laptop one with usually USB-C 3.2 connection or a simple vertical mount stand and attach a Thunderbolt hub like the Dell WD22TB4.

Late reply just in case anyone else is finding this video and digging through comments. The USB-C 4.0 ports work with my USB 4.0 Cable Matters hub (Dual HDMI), as well as my Dell WD22TB4 dock connected to a 27" 165Hz 1440p and a 34" 144Hz 1440p. My WD22TB4 is also connected to an older USB 3.1 hub (powered through micro-USB) and between all 7 USB-A ports I have connected 2 mice, 2 keyboards, 1 webcam, 1 headphone DAC/AMP, and 1 USB bluetooth dongle all at the same time with 0 issues. The USB-C 4.0 ports also work normally with the KVM built-in to my Pixio PX277 Pro monitor. Display, ethernet, power delivery, and USB-A (daisy chained into another, powered, USB 3.1 hub) over a single USB-C cable and works as you'd expect. The USB-C VLink input has only worked (for me) with other USB-C devices (E.g., Samsung Dex from phone; Steamdeck; WD22TB4 USB-C Thunderbolt 4 output into the V3). I tried the Cable Matters 'bidirectional' USB-C to DP 1.4 cable from my desktop 4070 FE into the V3's VLink - no success. I tried with, and without, the V3 plugged into external power. I also have their "DP-Monitor" utility installed, which monitors the VLink port and will prompt you to shutdown and switch over when it detects something plugged in. The software utility works with my phone, my TB dock, and my Steamdeck, but it doesn't detect the bidirectional cable. I was reallllly hoping I could use the V3 as an additional wired monitor with my gaming PC so it's not collecting dust on a shelf when I'm at home, but I'll have to find another solution.

Asking here: Anyone have a V3 and able to run the FFXIV: Dawntrail benchmark on it? I'm fairly certain it should run fairly well, but since there is a graphical update, I want to see how the V3 does with it.
@AlexanderZinzer
@AlexanderZinzer Ай бұрын
Received my (32 GB) V3 yesterday. Followed the steps in this guide, except I modified the V3 Adj script to 45W (instead of the 37W). I left the FFXIV: Dawntrail benchmark on default settings (high desktop), except I changed the resolution to full screen 1280x800 because I like integer scaling (used to it from my Steamdeck). I don't play FFXIV so no clue what 'good' is, but here you go: Total Loading Time: 17.437 sec. Score 6361. Performance: Fairly High.

Repeating the benchmark, but changing "high desktop" to "high laptop" results in the following: Total Loading Time: 14.674 sec. Score 7739. Performance: Fairly High.
@AlexanderZinzer
@AlexanderZinzer Ай бұрын
Lastly for ya, keeping "high laptop" defaults but changing resolution to native 2560x1600: Total Loading Time: 20.707 Score 4068. Performance: Standard This is the only one of the three that had noticeable screen tearing and (I think) dynamic resolution to try and keep 60 FPS. If it was dynamic resolution idk what it was, but it didn't look consistent throughout.

Alexander to the rescue, you guys know where to get accessories for this, I'm worried that you can't boot into bios without a physical keyboard 😅 and not from a script within windows.
