Successor to Handheld Control Panel, My New Software Does (will do) It All!

Күн бұрынHere is my latest software, Handheld Hardware Tools. It's a refactor of my handheld control panel designed to use less cpu and RAM. It's got a couple of new really cool features like radial menu, joystick controlled OSK, and more!
Remember this is a work in progress and has bugs!

I’ve been very excited for a video on your new software and wow it does not disappoint. It’s a very smooth interface. The radial wheel is innovative. I’m very much looking forward to using that! I’m looking forward to the auto updated. Keep up the great work on this as it will be very helpful to many I think. Congrats on getting the V3 from Minisforum!

Glad that auto-TDP is planned, based on the Q&A floating around the comments area...! Really liked "Handheld Control Panel"...another 3rd "handheld" app, with auto-TDP feature works ok, but the controller/ joystick part and info overlay seems to be unreliable...it "hides" my joystick when it should, and the OSD doesn't show up reliably...

This is fantastic! Super smooth and it just works! If you don’t mind, I'd like to suggest possibly adding virtual controller simulator like on Handheld Companion. Now, I don't know anything about creating any of this stuff and I am sorry if that is out of the question. I like switching the controls to dualshock for taking advantage of gyro that way. It seems easier to set up gyro (for someone who doesn't know what their doing like me lol) using steam input on windows handhelds. Keep up the great work!! I love the convenience of this software and the hotkeys functionality works extremely well.

I should add, the bios tdp limit on the V3 limits the upper value in my software. You can change bios value to 28W and control it after with my software OR set it to 28W in minisforum space everytime

Will this work with fullscreen games? I tried HCP in the past, but anytime I tried to pull up the menu it would minimize my game, so I ended up uninstalling it. If this is fixed then I will definitely be hopping on board!

I haven’t tried it but one thing I did do was make it so that the app won’t have focus when it opens which might fix that

Anyone knows how to use this and be able to modify fan curves? im using gpd win and the only way i find for fan curves is motion assistant but it overrides the tdp control on this one

i installed it on my gpd win 4 and its not registering my control when i switch from mouse to control and doesn't read hot keys or let me input a hotkey any help would be appreciated.

Hey! Are you on discord? It would be a bit easier to diagnose there. If not, when you go back to controller, if you hold start and select for 2 seconds does a pop up come up?

I'm not sure why but changing the TDP does nothing for me (Minisforum V3). Actually, no software has been able to change the TDP of my device except for Minisforum Space. What am I doing wrong?

Hey! Minisforum space changes tdp on the bios level. It’s default 15. All the other software can’t go above the bios level, but you can set it below 15 no problem. To fix this: go to the bios and set tdp to 28W. This only needs to be done once. The software should be able to control tdp across the board. Let me know if this fixes it for you!

@@HandheldHardware Sorry if you read my last comment. I spoke too soon! The TDP slider still doesn't work. Really not sure what is going on.

@@HandheldHardware Okay! After further testing, the TDP slider is working! I was trying to adjust TDP in the game Tarisland (don't recommend) originally which does have anti-cheat which is part of the reason why I thought the TDP slider wasn't working. HHT did not inform me that the TDP slider wasn't working while playing Tarisland, which is fine that's my fault but HHT did inform me of anti-cheat software while playing Elden Ring which is great. The other reason I thought the TDP slider/adjuster wasn't working is because the UI often will say the TDP is set to a value other than what I set myself. E.g I set the TDP to 20, minimize HHT, when I re-open HHT the TDP will often display a different value other than 20. It could be 16, 19, 22, etc.

Awesome @hardware handheld I'm having a problem after I installed it. When I open up the app, it closes on it's own after 6 seconds. Not sure what I am doing wrong. I have a GPD Win 4 6800U. Thanks again

@@luke95media it could, I added some anti cheat detection so those functions aren’t available when an anti cheat is running. I don’t know if I covered every major anti cheat though. Edit: tdp changing for example is not available when an anti cheat is running

Tried running it on my legion go and the program crashes after opening the main menu. The logs say it does start the main menu but thats it.
