Maybe if they give Mint more ballet dance during her transformation it will look better?

The old one will always be better. The old one was fluid, graceful, elegant, and captured her personality. The new one is stiff, boring, and worst of all, she doesn’t even get her own theme.

Artist and ballerina here! From an animator's perspective, the new animations are too reliant on bells and whistles (the flashy lights, the galaxy plastered over her, constantly moving background, etc.) to cover up for their shortcomings, whereas the old animation is so amazing in its fluidity, simplicity, consistency and strong keyframes. I've never been a fan of overly polished animation like this, and always prefer the more imperfect, yet impressive, animations. The old version also gave her a strong character in such a short amount of time. Though, that's just my opinion. Here's my perspective as a dancer: oh my her technique in the new version is... something. I don't know much about the show, but in the original, she has clear poise, elegance and control. It isn't only technique, it's also her movement quality. I don't think that the lack of ballet she does in the new version is the issue, as if they wanted more emphasis on her changing costume, they have the power to do so. I just feel like they could've made simple changes, like having her poses/movements feel more deliberate, especially if they couldn't do proper research/couldn't rotoscope an actual ballerina. Sorry about the long comment! Her unpointed feet, jagged movements and turned in legs will always bother me haha, especially since the old animation captures personality and ballet technique so well! Though I guess I should be more fair to the animators, considering time constraints and budget limitations.

The new one looks prettier visually but the choreography of the old one has so much more character and stands out Also i feel like they tried to make the new one too flashy, like the old one used different colors for the background to create dynamic tones for each part of the sequence, having it build up rather than flashbang Less is more sometimes and this really shows it The old one also knows when to hold a pose, and uses the movement to frame parts of the transformations, while the new one has her hold three poses for the actual transformation and then dance a bit after It's so hard for me to focus on the new one with the old one right there because it has so much more dynamic with its backgrounds, angles, and body movements and is so much more creative with it The old one knew how to balance and use the elements they were working with a lot better than the new one which feels not necessarily generic but if there was a spectrum of generic to refreshing unique transformations It'd be closer to generic on that spectrum

See, I'm so conflicted because I liked her older hairstyle and design along with the ballet motif her classic transformation had.But I really enjoy how shiny and polished the current art is!

You can tell they don’t have the budget to make fluid animations like back then, unfortunately it’s all invested in the cutesy part instead which isn’t bad but I miss the goofy and smooth animations

proof that just because you make things more high definition doesn't mean its good. the old one gave Mint such a personality! i do like the new pose at the end of the new one, but it felt like the lighting took way too much

I like the old one better save for the very beginning where she reached back so far, it looked like she broke her arms to me.

I would the transformation of mew mew mint (original) mew mew mint new transformation no make it dance scene exactly similar to the original.
