Yes, there's a latency. But it should be acceptable for a powerpoint presentation. You can cast everything whatever is shown on your mobile device. Have a look in my recent video and you can decide whether the latency is acceptable for your purpose: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Zrh6jLaYvtmdo58.html

Thanks. Apparently the HDMI output of the miracast device is more important. In 2013, I was trying to use the same VGA convert on a MHL adapter without success. You can see that here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mJ9jYLGEsLLWmoU.html

I connected it to my phone charger.

I was using an USB power adapter (my phone charger).

I was using an external adapter. But if your projector has an input for USB drive you can try that, too.

I haven't tried Chrome cast. Apparently, two devices have to log into the same network.
