thanks. I didn't realize that it had to have power in order to work. I was use to my VGA to lightning rod adapter with my iphone which does not. You saved the day. Thanks again.

You're very welcome. I can't tell what resolution is the output of the adapter because my projector always scales it down to max. 858x600 if it's higher.

bigboss97 Thanks again. I just checked, it doesn't support MHL so I'm going to buy a Samsung S4 because I need to project presentations for my work and this is the most handy solution.

Roxane a You're very welcome. If your projector is not too old it should have HDMI input (higher resolution) too. You might want to consider this one kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rNpmnKyC2tGogp8.html Since these adapters are not too expensive I suggest you to have both in your bag and you will be ready for any situation :-)

Thanks for the review mate!!!!! It looks like a solution! Can you see the resolution it sends to the display and to the projector. My hdmi to dvi doesn't come further then 480p! native resolution of my phone is 1280x800 and display 2560x1200! Thanks again

You have to make sure that your phone supports MHL. Many latest phones don't. But they support miraCast, see kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fNp9n7eT2d_Pepc.html

I just did a search. MHL to VGA has become rare and very expensive. But MHL to HDMI are still reasonable. You might want to consider MHL-HDMI then HDMI-VGA (see kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fNp9n7eT2d_Pepc.html) The advantage... you can use the HDMI-VGA for other purpose as well and MHL-HDMI can be used for "modern" monitor. So it's more future proof.

Unfortunately, I can't answer your question. My guess, in this case it won't make any difference. It was an issue when I tried to convert HDMI to VGA: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mJ9jYLGEsLLWmoU.html See also a comment about HDCP under that video.

ANY digital display out since ~2007/8 since the standard was implemented needs to be! It doesn't matter what adapter is used as the handshake is between the source device and the display device!

Most recent phone don't support MHL, but miraCast, you can try: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fNp9n7eT2d_Pepc.html (it doesn't have to be so complicate) :-)

No, no app is required. Probably, your tablet does not support MHL connection (same as my recent phone). You can google the Specs of your model. If it doesn't support MHL it maybe support Miracast (a wireless solution). See: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fNp9n7eT2d_Pepc.html

+Justin Kasanwirjo I wasn't able to test that. You can check the Specs of your device, whether MHL ist supported. Usually the seller also provide a list of compatible devices. Be careful, each manufacturer has different product.
