Jenny Doan demonstrates how to make a beautiful Flower Chain quilt using yardage and 5 inch squares of precut fabric (charm packs). For this project, she chose Poetic License Batiks by Bella Nonna Designs for Island Batik. She also used the Clearly Perfect Slotted Trimmer A and the Missouri Star 10" Square Template.
This quilt combines our Irish Change quilt block (a variation of the traditional Irish Chain) with a sweet little flower block. Both blocks are quick, easy, and fun to make.

Afraid I don’t even consider it an idiosyncrasy! It’s just the way to get things done quickly-at least in our family for the last 3 generations that I know. But I ‘come from a long line’ of warm hearted, loving people-huggers and kissers. 😊 We never had the slightest doubt of being loved and protected and, from what I hear from others, that wasn’t always the way in every family. Seems like Jenny and her family must also have that reassurance. ❤️

What's wrong with licking your fingers? Peoples criticism over ridiculous things is out of control. Your skin dries out as you age you shouldn't have to apologize. I've been licking my fingers while sewing for 65 years and not stopping for anyone.
@MetaphysicalMandy
@MetaphysicalMandy 3 жыл бұрын
its not about criticism, with everything the way it is today, even if we take covid out of the question she is still licking her fingers and possibly taking in germs of other sorts, not to mention she then touches multiple things afterwards which then spreads whatever she may have. I am all for people being who they are and I would never change anything I do, but if I could prevent something I am gonna try. There are plenty of products that are sold to give the sticky finger effect.

I know Covid is bad but, I never had an issue of Jenny licking her fingers... I imagine her immune system is great. We all need a little bit of germs in our system to make us healthy... Sometime I wonder how the caveman survived. A great tutorial.. I was planning on making a Double Irish Chain quilt next but this quilt is stunning.

An utterly GORGEOUS quilt! Loved (!) seeing a KZfaq Quilter actually admit a boo-boo & pick it out. So reassuring for beginners -- tells them that yes, mistakes happen, & that we ALL make 'em!!! PS: I know what you mean about licking fingers: it dries them out & makes you vulnerable to cold/flu/covid/whatever germs you might have picked up. It's a habit I struggle with as well. :(
