** So if I would have known that it was going to rain last night, I would have went all night! But, I need to get this done because winter is coming.
** Though in saying, mistakes were clearly made by trying to finish in the mud because Mike plugged the Protill solid! 😢🤦 And let me tell yeah, that's not fun.. 😂
** So after some time, both Ashtyn and Mike got it unplugged and back together and instead of quiting, Mike actually got the job done. Probably mostly due to it had time to dry 😂

Mike put a temporary electric fence around your grain bags and deer won’t go near them. Can get solar energizers cheap. We use all time to keep stock off our silage stacks

A much cheaper and efficient option would be to purchase a couple dozen red and amber solar powered strobe lights. Deer and predators will avoid the area when they see those lights.

A small tip from Germany: The Fendt tractors always have a Front Hitch Suspension. But if you lift the Front Hitch up to stop, it doesn't work. Lift it up and then let down 2 fingers wide. Then the suspension works perfectly. This also drives much better with the 3tons front weight. In the TMS menu you can specify that when lowering the Hitch or hydraulics the Enginespeed is automatically raised. Then the Engine does not collapse so far when lowering.

Deer don't like tall pointed objects. you could make mobile tripods, possibly with motion activated flash. But I agree with several others that once the animals learn to associate those grain bags with food they will be back.

That stuck , right there is why I wouldn’t want rolling baskets, it would be much worse to clean out and easier to plug.

Might not be cheap but bins are looking better. They have tasted the honey and will be back for more. Will just keep tearing them open.

Hi mike, Suggest you put up a temporary solar charged electric fence around the grain bags the keep the deer out. Rolling baskets might work better in the wetter conditions, corrugated packers are good, but doesn't take much moister to stop them. Especially in heavy clay soils...😁

You know it is a “Bad Plug” when you shut the tractor off to save fuel . I think this should count as a “Stuck” since it took Ashtyn and the Chevy to get you going again. I think the cleaning of the shop bathroom will be on Mike’s list of “Things To Do” 😂🚽🤣

The “TRICK” is to stop before you get “FULLY PLUGGED” but then then again where would the fun be in that plus we all know that Mike likes to go at “Ram Speed” till something plugs no matter what pc of equipment 😂🤣

Hey Mike use your nugget and bring a bottle of rubbing alcohol with youse. Make a hand towel soaked with alcohol. Go to each hole with the alcohol soaked towel to all holes. By the time you get back unless its raining all will be dry. Way better and way less work. Use rubber gloves.

Well Mike, just a question: on the grain bags, is it maybe possible in order to prevent from damage to put so-called protective cover on these bags? We used those earlier on when we had silage under plastic, after which we put such protective cover on top of that, it is kind of woven plastic and able to prevent from a lot of damage by birds, kats, dogs and possibly also the deer and other you mentioned. Well not nice to have the protill plugged and unplugged. But the good thing was that you showed us every single detail of it and how to manage and do the settings properly, so thanks a bunch you guys.

These rubber rollers get's very stuck with brown mud and some grass. Horsch have really good protill with 2 metal rollers which has no scrapers and can't get plugged, unless you bury it. If there is Horsch dealers in Canada you should check them out Mike.

Degelman has a new design for the scraper arms and sells them as retrofit kits for the older disks. We just installed a set on our 26ft demo unit and there is far less play in them. Scrapes off the mud way better.

Looks like a wee alteration to that pro till. A set of hydraulic rams to set the clearance and when retracted will swing them up. Run via an electro hydraulic controller from an existing feed line would allow you to clean those at the edge of your fields out of the way on a regular basis. Dirt build up rubbing on that roller will cause premature wear and use extra diesel to pull it.

Mike, Now I Know why NORWOOD/John Deere High Speed Discs Have Optional (?) hydraulic cylinders to control the scrapers clearance on the go, from fully closed against the Packer wheels to fully open.

Put a temporary electric fence around the grain bags to keep the deer out. Btw, detailed fuel usage stats for tractors are available from Nebraska Tractor Laboratory. The big Fendts (Challengers) do slightly better than Case and Deere according to their tests.

Get a window cleaning squeegee brilliant for getting water off the plastic. Stick an electric fence up to protect your bags👍

Mike Mitchell the Degelman if you have the proper tools. The baskets on the Lemken isn’t too bad if conditions are dry enough to take it for a high speed run across the field if you ever want to see some dirt fly. 😂
