If one has an assimilating sequence, one can evaluate the root by bisecting the interval of x_1 and x_2, right? This is due to the symmetry of the odd function?

I feel bad for the kid who said the sign of the gradient and instantly got told he was wrong. and then had the teacher basically explain what he said in a more diluted way
