Thanks! Easiest diagnoses I've ever found. I had the same thing happen as you, the blade spun and then I had this horrible wobble. I broke out the manual and that was zero help. Found your video and was able to just measure the bushing with my micrometer and found it off several thousandths. I ordered new a new bushing and boom! Thanks again for the great video.

I’ll start by thanking you!! I followed your video step by step to determine that the inner washer was in fact the reason for the wobble in my blade. I have a Dewalt service center near me and when I called, they tried their best to have me take my saw to them and have it serviced. However, I purchased the inner washer and the blade guide. Total cost $8.31. My saw runs like new. Thank you for your step by step diagnosis and saving me allot of money.

Very systematic. I'm glad you had a new bushing so we weren't left wondering. And then the additional information of what would be your next tests. The importance of proper tool maintenance cannot be over emphasized. Thanks for the detailed diagnosis and documentation.

Thank you! I had adopted my usual tendency to over complicate things with my very slightly wobbly table saw blade issue until I found this video. Thankfully, I didn't need the diagnostics as you'd petty much already done it for me and it turned out that all I needed to do was remove the bushings, clean them up on a 2000 grit diamond stone which removed the very tiniest of burrs and now the blade is back running like a dream.

Thanks for that explanation and your video. That means a blade wobble also points to braking as a safety issue. You can also put the two washer plates face to face and hold them up to light. Slowly twist one of them.

even if your saw and blade are new you should position your blade with the least amount of run out. Most people with just put a blade on and go. all saws and blade combo have runout and you can minimize it by finding the best postion for the blade and bushing.
@dankfinch
@dankfinch 4 ай бұрын
Yes sir. I was able to minimize the runout on my 12" slider from 12 thousandths to 4 thousandths by simply spinning the bushing. I just ordered a new bushing to see if I can mitigate it further.

I just grabbed a DW716 at work that was being thrown out because of blade wobble. I removed the arbor washer that you replaced and put it on the lathe. I measured .004 run out on the small diameter register. I took a carbide lathe tool and cut the .004 thousandths off of it. It runs very true now.

Hi. Thanks for sharing your video and being able to help so many of us watchers. Please see if you could help me too. I'm in the process of acquiring a Dewalt DWS709 15 Amp 12 in. Slide Compound Miter Saw that according to the manual, the saw comes with 5/8" arbor on it. Then I have to replace the blade for a Freud, like the one on your saw, but I don't know if the bushing is supplied since these Freud blades come with 1" holes on them. Therefore, my question is if your saw has the same characteristics as mine (5/8" arbor) and requires a bushing to install the new blade, or the factory blade has a 1" hole and the bushing comes with the machine already? Also, since this seems like a persistent problem with this bushings; would you please include the store's name or link where to purchase it? I"ve tried to locate it and only find one place but they want $19 for it plus S/H. Please help me with this issue? Thanks.

I have a Ridgid R4221 that I just setup (a gift from several months ago that I finally unboxed because of a couple issues with my DeWalt 10") and discovered the wobble issue the moment I switched it on... huge disappointment for an otherwise superb product. I just found your video and had surmised the saw's wobble issue may be either a harmonically induced problem or perhaps could be a blade balance issue (not too likely) but trying to be open minded to all possible sources which I surmised could be drive train induced be either motor bearings and/or bushings due to the worm type transmission of power to turn the blade. So, watching your well done trouble shooting process makes me all the more inclined to believe it to be the later sources which I suppose could be a cause of harmonic vibration as well but a $5 bushing is a pretty cheap place to start if Ridgid kicks my claim due to being a gift and not having a receipt to register it for their LSA warranty. I'll try. We'll see. So, where do I purchase a 1" arbor bushing these days... for Ridgid? Also, I've wondered if putting a 1" rubber shim washer on each side of the blade might serve to dampen the vibration? Your input, plz.

I can't figure the problem I have out. I have a ls1013 makita, when I let go of the trigger the saw doesn't brake and it sounds like metal grinding, not a squeel but like it's a metal moving part skipping and grinding on something else while it winds down. I haven't found anything at all like this on the KZfaq. The gear inside the housing is a little worn (it has a lot of miles on it though) but besides that everything looks fine. Would a new switch fix this by fixing the brake.?
@pancake_crab4457
@pancake_crab4457 4 жыл бұрын
Friendly observation: if you have an indicator using it would make it easier to find the high and low points of the wobble. But, it also might trigger your perfectionism as you try to fix all sources of wobble in your saw (I'd get stuck doing that if I didn't catch myself). Anyway, great video. Unfortunately my saw has wobbles for a different more structural reason. But this is great info to know if something like this ever happens to me.

This was great i couldnt figure out why my saw was out of tune from the left side only... Because of a 16th of wobble from a dirty bushing... Also i have the same saw and i sprayed three coats of leak seal on the underside and arm and then filled all the gaps with spray foam, then worked all the extra foam smooth, thenn another three coats of leak seal... My saw is so quiet now its unreal, plus it doesnt get full of dust

my dewalt slider won't rotate all the way to 45 degrees. I slid the fence out of the way too. doesn't appear to be hitting anything. any ideas??

Not sure, I would just look to see what it is hitting when you try to rotate it. Something has to be stopping it. Sorry I was not more help.

Stop nut out of adjustment? Some miters will only rotate 45 in one direction..and do less in the other, maybe this?

Good video and good troubleshooting. I ordered my first miter saw and it is coming tomorrow. Do all the miter saws have left handed blade bolts

I don't know about all of them but all the ones I have used do.

Don’t most spinning saws in general have that? I think it’s so the blade doesn’t spin itself loose.

The Problem stems from ALL Imported/ Chinese manufactured tools , That their QUALITY CONTROL is NOT like AMERICAN made products . AND their Materials are of NON Virgin Manufacture. Ive seen this problem Grow over the decades in the Machining industry I have worked in over 50 Years . Asian quality Control has improved some , but No where Near what it needs to be . That Washer (Bushing) he replaced was most likely "stamped" NOT Machined during Manufacturing . And Or was never inspected for Quality Assurance. Old saying IS YOU GET what YOU PAY FOR .... Enjoy ! Glad you were able to Find the Culprit : )

It’s not a bushing though, it’s a collar. Why did he waste all that time placing x and turning the blade and whatever. Yet another video showing that dewalt is rubbish.
