Alternator change incl. V-belt swap. Why? Because of terrible noise after engine cold start comming from the belt drive, but also the alternator bearings are kind of worn out. The alternator itself is irreparable to me. I went for a new non OEM piece for something more than 100 EUR. It had to be drilled a bit and the connector had to be changed for the old OEM one, as it's a special piece. All in all it works very well. I have to note, that the alternator from the similar Smart For Four 1.1i is not the same, so take care if you want to pick an old one.
Spare wheel change very fast:
• Mitsubishi Colt 1.1i S...
Air filter change:

Easily the best video I've seen on this thank you so much. Came here to see how to take the pivot bolt out and now realise you have to remove the coolant hose - you have saved me so much time and money and your video is very clear and easy to follow. Thank you VERY much.

Thanks for the video it's helpful. Thinking about swapping my fan belt tomorrow, making a squeaking sound. Always nervous replacing items on a car if I've never done it before. Always worry about doing it wrong. The alternator seems ok. Is the belt tensioner auto or do you manually tighten it?

You have to manually tighten it by angling the alernator. You'll see on the video. Good Luck!

Hello thanks for the good videos, they motivate me to change it myself :) I have two questions... Question 1: can I easily unscrew the thermostat to remove the alternator screw ? Or is coolant leaking out there ? Question 2: do I have to bleed the cooling system after changing the water pump ? If so, what is the best way to proceed? I have a bit of a hard time with that. Thank you and best regards !

Hi enrico, thank you for the nice words. Q1: coolant will leak out, you need to place a box underneath the car. Q2: no, you don't have to, but you can, if you want. In the video is the right coolant type, you have to premix it with distilled water like described in the video, open the heating to max and pour the premix directly into the cooler or cooler hose to fill up the radiator. But that is also covered in the video I think. Good luck

Hi, you can very clearly see it in the video itself and it's a Mitsubishi Electric Czech, 1800A070, A5TG0091AE, 12V 85A, you can even see the bar code of the old alternator in the video. Hope I could help. Bye

I will need to change that belt soon, so I won't need to take the whole alternator off, I'm just not sure on how much I need to tighten it down to have the same tension on the belt. I can see how yours is, any more tips to know it's good? Thanks

Hi. The tension setup is unknown to me, some must be there, it cannot be too tight because of the alternator and water pump bearings and not too loose because of belt slippage. F.e. if you can push it down max 1 cm after tightening, it could be good, or at least a good start.
