I didn't know that about bean seeds. Mine haven't sprouted yet. I don't have burlap but could I use cardboard?

Well Water doesn't go through cardboard, so you would have to remove it to water and the watering is what can roll the seeds. I think you would be better off with nothing and just water real gently
