Oh hey that's me!! Sorry for the long winded intro- I wanted to be thorough 😅 I also filmed this on my very short lunch break so I was in a hurry! #outofbreath My acne has improved so much since submitting this (and my dermatologist actually prescribed me a Sulfur based cleanser!) I removed niacinamide completely from my routine and 95% of my active acne is gone. Not sure if there's a correlation because there's many factors of course! Started on topical clindamycin again, and still using gentle cleaners! & received 2 chemical peels (I did document 1 on my channel). Side note: I had seen people mention that a damaged skin barrier could cause irritation around the nose and overwhelm the skin so I just kind of panicked and thought I'd start including more hydrating products. THANK YOU 😀 I hope this video can be helpful to others getting married as well.

Also suggest stay away from snail mucin I had the same break outs using snail mucin and ordinary niacinmide. Watch Susan's fungal acne videos and add sulfur products they shouldn't hurt. Such as dermadoctor sulfur clay mask and dermolgoica sulfur bubble mask Good luck and f the world enjoy your wedding no matter what luck

Thank you for reacting to my routine and your helpful suggestions! To those saying I'm out of breath - Luckily for me, I work just a few minutes from home, so I was able to film this on my lunch break! Unfortunately, my break is only 30 minutes total so I had to talk fast. I don't normally sound so flustered haha :)

I’m surprised that mask-wearing didn’t come up in this as a possibility. I’ve had massive issues in the same areas and the same timeframe, and the only real change was that I was covering that area with a mask 90% of the last 18 months.

I think that portion of the video was cut if I recall. I have my own work office (don't share a work space) - so I only have to wear mine in the hallways at work or in public. So most of my day I'm actually mask free!

I think she should simplify her routine as much as she can for a few days to see if that works.. double cleanse, apply a light and gentle toner and then moisturizer. i also stopped using cleanser in the morning bc that would strip my skin and it has been so much better lately.

If she's using sponge to apply her makeup(foundation/base makeup), maybe the tool needs to be replaced already? For a time my friend with really good skin suddenly had acne breakouts from that. Now thankfully her skin looks awesome again. Rooting for you, Mariah! You're still beautiful! You got this! 🤗

I think it could be the snail mucin from cosrx.... I've had a bad reaction to snail mucin, and I've heard from my friends/coworkers that they were having trouble with it as well. As some people already said here, maybe simplifying the routine as much as possible might help. I hope you will figure it out though 💪

Jeez, i can so relate to that girl. My wedding was three months ago, and since the proposal I was afraid that my skin will betray me right before the wedding and i would get a massive breakout or a giant deep zit that would look like a horn on me and the mua wouldn't be able to hide it 😬

That burts bees oil cleanser made me break out like crazy! She needs a way deeper 2nd cleanse if she’s gonna use that as her 1st cleanse. Just saying! From my personal experience. Clinique take the day off is pretty affordable for the amount u get and comes off super easily definitely check that out! And also that cerave PM is very lightweight I wouid go in with something more nourishing like the cetaphil redness relief cream or the cerave peptide night moisture (the purple small tub) love those both hope I helped a little from sharing my experience!

yessss, I'm getting married this December and my acne is the same with her. I have already tried retinol, oral antibiotics and my acne just wont go away. I'm really worried that my make up (especially on my wedding day) would ruin my wedding day :(( but I'm afraid try oral medicine because I have eczema and I think it would dry my skin more :/

If I don't wash my face in the morning I break-out. I have dry skin so I really wish I could get away without. I just go with a gentle cleanser like the La Roche Posay Toleriane to minimize the amount of moisture barrier disruption. Compromise...lol.

There’s a possibility that the hydrating cleanser isn’t fully removing the oil cleanser. I think she should try double cleansing with micellar water instead and doing salicylic at night, hydrating in the morning.

I can't use snail at all in my skin care it cause fungal acne. I suggest to do what I did follow Susan's videos to clear up fungal acne plus adding sulfur products Dermadoctor sulfur and clay mask (they stopped selling at ultra 😢 only available on their site) and also I like dermalogica sulfur bubble mask ( still at ulta) really helped clear the snail mess from my face. Sorry Korean skin care but true

My acne looks similar to hers. The only thing that helped me was a very basic routine that included Tretinoin and one hydrating toner. For me, simpler is better and my skin always got worse when I kept trying in new products.
@Dr__Feelgood

Exactly. I've been on tretinoin since I was a teenager. The main mistake with tretinoin is not sticking with it LONG-TERM. Do not stop, especially while undergoing "the purge!!" And do not stop once you've gotten it under control either. I've made the latter mistake many times and have had to undergo the purge again and again everytime I re-started. Not making that mistake anymore. Lol. I'm 34 now and will continue with my "vitamin A gel" till I'm 104! Lol (My grandma is 95 now and her mom made it to 100, so I'm going to beat that record, with good skin. Lol)

Honesty the cosrx snail mucin broke me out and irritated my skin! I know a lot of people love it but the best snail products I’ve used are the Benton high content skin serum and the Beauty of Joseon Repair snail serum! The Benton one is supposed to also aid against acne but also soothes the skin.

I had a very very similar journey. Multiple times and it’s so annoying. To go clear and then fall backwards. Just in case you happen to see this and it’s not too late: you’re probably working out more for your wedding like I did??? If so consider your sweat and rags and ingestion of things such as pre-workout, caffeine, etc. If you’re taking any probiotics STOP. Biotin? Lower the dosage. Facial hair removal? STOP. Dairy? STOP until at-least after the wedding. and try to eat semi-clean unless it’s dinner, a date, or a function with more than 10 people. 😉 Oh and keep your hands, phone, and hair off your face and pillow cases and sheets cleaned regularly. A Doxycycline prescription from my dermatologist also helped me pretty fast with the last one and once before in college. Ask your derm about this. My skin is clear now unless it that time of the month. I just have post hyperpigmentation- two complexions darker than you. Best of luck, mama. Congratulations on your wedding.

Somethings to note about the niacinimide - niacinimide can mattify skin, so it's maybe not the best for the dry or combo skin, I for one break out with TO - niacinimide at high concentrations can be irritating to the skin for those with sensitive or combo skin. Especially if there are insufficient lipids in a formulation. You all may not have brought it up given that Naturium has a high% serum, but it should be noted nonetheless for Mariah

i have dry / combo leaning dry skin and love niacinimide in my products esp to balance out my oilier t zone and my drier cheeks but i def agree with the fact that it can be irritating and sometimes drying - i’ve found that it’s in almost all my products so personally i don’t use any one product that has more than 2% niacinimide or else the total amount in my routine is too much for me

I think it really depends on the product and your skin. I have dry skin and I use the Elf Happy Hydration moisturiser which has niacinamide and love it. It doesn't dry my skin out, it even nourishes it more in the cold months. I also use the Mizon snail mucin and niacinamide eye cream and again have no negative comments. It is all about what product you use and what your skin specifically wants.

I personally also breakout when I use The Ordinary’s Niacinamide+Zinc serum. I was using it for almost two years, then something just happened with my last vial and I was breaking out. I stopped using it, and my skin cleared, and the experience put me off from using any sort of zinc PCA products. I gave Naturium’s Niacinamide+Zinc serum a try, and I experience no issues from it. So, I think based on other consumer reviews about acne and The Ordinary’s nicinamide, then I think there is some sort of issue caused by The Ordinary’s sourcing or maybe QC that is causing the acne issues.

With COVID-19 we have all changed . I have a solid skin care routine with a well-aging factor included. But I'm in A MASK more than half the day. The mask now has to be a N-95 over the reg mask when I step into pt. room then the googles and the hot breath steaming up my googles or shield and no offence but I'm not even a LPN , RN, Dr. LOL . They're slow. I'm moving faster than we should but they never have enough help in the health care industry. EVER!!! I've been an Aide for 30 yrs. no play. since 7/1991. I can Don and Duff PPE 50 times before lunch. ( ask people if their jobs require the PPE and if they have irritation around the nose chin cheeks . Acne under the chin and Jawline.) Love your reaction tutorials but I find myself yelling to my husband I know why they're breaking out. I'd tell you your husband would love Japanese Sunblock. Texture thing .
