During a live stream a couple of days ago, I decided to try a brand new plugin by Plugin Alliance; the Brainworx SSL 4000.
In today’s video I open up a session and mix with all 3 of these plugins!

The Townhouse was a recording studio in West London, built by Richard Branson in 1978. Artists that recorded at Townhouse Studios included Elton John, Queen, Phil Collins, Asia, Coldplay, Muse, Duran Duran, XTC, Robbie Williams, Peter Gabriel, and many more!.
It was one of the greatest studios in the world, unfortunately it’s gone now!

I love it when musicians and engineers get excited about a piece of kit or plugin ...doesn't matter if your a seasoned pro or just starting out...grin factor in sound is a joint experience.

Man oh man, I just tried the demo for this SSL. Crazy good in my mix. My strings came to life, piano and bass lines floored me! I got to win. Click my heels three times. "Oh please oh please oh please" hhehehehe thanks for the video Warren. ;)

Great to hear XTC getting a namecheck. Their later albums (Skylarking, Nonsuch, Oranges and Lemons) are amongst my favourite albums ever... the songwriting, production, arrangements and sounds are stunning. Thanks for the great things you share with us.

You missed one thing: channel strip modeling. You didn't change channels on ssl plugins. Each channel cirquit is unique. ☝️😉

What a fantastic test drive of the Brainworx SSL goodies!! I saw this video last year and am considering picking up the E for a project I'm ready to mix so I had to see it again. Fantastic!! Regarding your "don't know which bass line to use"...I think it would be killer if you run the clean line in the verse and hyped-out sound for chorus.

Thanks for posting this Warren. Really digging the sound of that compressor.I think I'm going to have to buy it. For some reason I was singing When the Levee Breaks when I heard those drums lol Nice tune you got going there.
