Only 4 years later lol, just totaled my mk6 but I'm boutta get a 400hp vr6 this Saturday

@Thekiller101 hahaha four years later lol nah you're good. So I actually just suffered compression issues in my engine. If the case is that I have to buy a new engine . I have the 2012 jetta s manual with that 2.0 engine. I have no idea about compatibility with my car. I really want the vr6 but I don't know where to start

Hey is there a build thread on your car? 20 PSI on stock motor, how is that so. I want to build the turbo vr at such psi but i was on the assumption that i need to dig in the motor and do low compression pistons

19-20psi in this video...but pressure is irrelevant. Volume of air being moved at that pressure is what matters and It all depends on the turbo size you are using. As far as info on the car, join VWVortex and search A LOT. There's too much to talk about in a comment on here, but in a nutshell VR6s are very tough. Just need to be knowledgeable about them, and know how to maintain it and build it properly. Maintain it well, and it will treat you well in return.

I know this is an old video but im curious, when you installed the HG spacer, how did you set the timing? I'm getting ready to turbo my gli but I cant really find any definite answers other than part of the block needs to be ground down

It’s been a long while but pretty sure exactly to factory spec. Didn’t do anything special IIRC

@@danny_vrsociety thanks for the reply. From what I have seen its just the tensioner doesn't fit on the cam chain so pqrt of the cover needs to be grinded down

@@dougszakacs376 i definitely didn’t do any grinding. The chain was a bit tight because of the spacer but I was able to get it on
