I had no idea how often this happened. Then again I’m not a real avid baseball fan but sports injury has always interested me since in high school my anatomy teacher was also an athletic physical therapist (if that’s the right term) but the mechanism of injury in sports are usually incredibly brutal and uniquely severe. Feel bad for these players. Injuries must be especially developed because of the risk of severe injury changing their lives and ending their careers.

I don’t think some people realize how fast those balls are going- 90 - 100 mph pitches HURT. Imagine the bruises. Especially when you can hear the players grunt and the ball colliding with them

@@51birds9 are u dumb. that doesnt mean the no hitter is broke. a no hitter is when the other team doest get a hit. batter didnt get a hit he got hit by the ball. same as a walk. it just means the pitcher doesnt have a perfect game anymore. just a no hitter. check ur facts.

This season, J.T realmuto on the Phil’s was catching for Jeff Hoffman, dude pitched a low ball and it connected with J.T’s lateral in his ankle, no catchers gear whatsoever in the area. It looked pretty painful. He kept playing though since he’s used to being hit by his own pitchers now- Wheeler drilled him in the throat and took him out of the game about a month ago

Baseball is so weird. U hit someone with a beamer in cricket the bowler apologies and checks on u with his teamates if he hits u purposely with a bouncer he checks on u. Nah in baseball the pitcher just looks at u like yh thats what u get or a big ass fight insues. People get hit similar to this un cricket and there are barely any fights
