Salah's back hurts from carrying this team, his country, and his countrymen while always being told he isn't good enough or doing enough... It's been a ridiculous display on how we should have been treating him all along

He’s never carried the team, that’s ridiculous to say. He has been a great goal scorer and player, but the team has always put their work in. Egypt on the other hand, I agree with you. Their treatment of Salah during the recent AFCON is totally immature too similar of an attitude the way that the English look for a scapegoat

It’s a nice ideal, however it’s a different world now with players holding all of the power - teams can’t afford for players they’ve invested in to walk away and profit. It’s sad that Mo’s half the player he was when he joined but sportsmen and women have short careers no matter how good they are.

the amount of chances Mo has generated that were shockingly missed by other forwards really does Mo a disservice this season. had the conversion rate from his big chances created been higher then Mo would've had a crazy assist record this season, and we'd be comfortably top of the table.

Salah on his worst day is our best striker. Darwin won us 5 points from Nottingham and Newcastle when we had NO business winning them. Assists all the time even if he's shooting blanks. We don't talk about Diaz and Gakpo, or Jota for that matter. Diaz is everywhere without tangible output. I know he had a rough go with life earlier on, but the output isn't there. Gakpo is invisible. A good game here and there from them. And then Jota isn't ever there.. if he was fit, he'd be a legend by now.

Sorry that’s just not true about Salah, now way a shitty Salah is better than a fit Jota, that’s madness. Salah had Bobby and Mane hide behind and bail us out - but now he can’t go past players and can’t seem to accelerate any more. He used to be a differentiator now he just takes up a place where someone younger and better could play. Hes only played well for the first half of the last few seasons. Excuses -- First it was him protesting over his contract💰💰, then he was sad that he lost the Afcon 😢😢 and now he was injured 🩹🩹. Plus he left foot has lost its aim and power - someone said he has the shot of a 10 year old these days, I’m not sure it’s that strong. Klopps favourtism over Salah, Jones and a few other has cost us dearly. Time to go, we can’t afford to carry him.

Look gents, it's a rotten end of the season, but we still gotta count the good eggs without throwing the whole basket away. Chelsea is the perfect example of that. Our philosophy is that we defend from the front, not the back. And yes, Salah is failing that, getting dispossessed too many times, but his numbers are still there. Darwin will chase down anyone who dispossesses him and foul him if that's what it takes. He's doing that right and his numbers are pretty good; but not great of course. Diaz and Gakpo constantly needs to be bailed out by Robbo, Macca and Endo. I see that as a glaring error in their play.

Darwin's finishing is obviously not good enough but also his all round game just isn't good enough. We need a striker that can link play better and with better technical ability. I'm all in on Gyökeres. Yes I'm aware he's also coming from the Portuguese league but I can just see he's superior in nearly every way.

I hear both sides. I feel like Liverpool have been idiotic many times when holding on to players and it had cost us trophies it could be argued. While salahs numbers are elite of course, they always will be, he’s not the same player. He doesn’t press, lost two yards of pace as well. I’d keep him if moving him centrally would work, if not I’d sell and get a nice bit of cash whilst we still can. We can’t be sentimental when competing with city, as they are the furthest away from that.

My issue with Salah is that he's the highest paid player, and he falls off a cliff every time he comes back from the AFCON. Any extension should take that into consideration, although it probably makes sense to have him around for at least one more season, so maybe we'll extend him without a "no AFCON" clause...

It's definitely a heart v head decision for Liverpool fans, I doubt it'll be as sentimental for Edwards - if a big offer comes in, he'll sell him. I think it's best to sell him. If he signs a new contract, great, but for a club that can't compete financially with the very top teams, turning down a big sum of money for a player with a year left on his contract would be crazy. We did pretty well re-investing the Coutinho money. The bigger thing though is what will Gabby Agbonlahor talk about if Klopp & Salah leave!

don't think salah is the problem here. Soboslai has been so disappointing for me, doesn't score goals nor assist as CAM. Endo has done well for us but we still need a monster DM. Hope Edwards will find top players for us....

Richard Hughes is director of football , Salah will only be sold if there is another player who has better potential according to the data, under Edwards we have never been a selling club so I don't understand why you have said what you said we only sell or release players that want to leave. And it's been that way for ten years so please feel free to explain your comment .

Luis Diaz isn't scoring as much as Mane used to, in his position. That adds pressure on Salah. Diaz has other abilities that might suit another team. Here, we need scoring wingers.

Sadio left his speed permanently at afcon’22, came back and was never the same. He basically forced Klopp to play him in the middle for the rest of the season because he could no longer be a winger. So in his last season, sadio had 16 goals in the league. About half of those were scored playing the 9. That’s 8 goals coming from LW. Luis Diaz currently has…. 8 goals in the league. And he’s orders of magnitude better at passing than sadio. Luis Diaz has 5 assists this year to Sadio’s 1 assist in 21/22, for example. Just say you liked sadio and wanted him to stay. That’s fine, he’s a legend. But you aren’t going to convince a lot of people that the reason this team is in 3rd place is because of the difference in goal scoring coming from LW.

@@shibainudegenerate7129_ hwang Hee chan has more goals than Nunez, and Hwang Hee chan costs 20 mil right now. Hwang costed 15 mil in January!!! Only 15 mil for 11 more goals for this Liverpool team !! That's the trophy at hand there.

Klopp played a game that suited Salah at his best, that game has been found out by the opposition, Klopp brought no definite solution to that situation whilst Salah has aged. Klopp is going, if Salah stays lets see how the new manager plays him, for sure it has to change. Can Salah change his game? If yes keep him, if no?

Well that was sudden. Klopp and salah have a bust up and not long after everybody seems to think salah to stay. Whether he is going to run down his contract or get an extension remains to be seen.

I've loved him from the day he signed, but he hasn't been the same since his hamstring injury. He doesn't try getting past players anymore and has become Harvey Elliot-esque on the RW, I'd move him on this summer if we can't accommodate his loss of pace.

He wasn't really taking people on before his injury and was adjusting by becoming way more vreative with his passing. This is just the natural reaction to coming back from a long injury. He'll be good next season, remember when everyone said about Van Dijk said was finishes and then this season he's been a brick wall.

I agree he has to move. But how can he be good if he always put Nunez, diaz, sobozlai 1v1 and they miss? How ? Because this month if those had scored salah would have 3-4 vital assists... probably going for POTM again... Football is simple you don't score... you end up conceding... and that's what happens at the minute... Sell him, but don't you think we get better keeping nunez, diaz and this lads that aren't clutch...

If contract renewal talks were going on this time last year, I would be excited. But now, not so much. A lot has happened with Salah in 2024. His want to play AFCON while Liverpool has a campaign going, his injury, his poor recent form, his public spat with Klopp. If you're gonna go like that at your manager, make sure you score. He didn't score. If a 100m plus offer came in for him, I'd sell him. He will be a Liverpool great no matter what happens from here.

Thanks (No thanks) to FSG, the entire Klopp era will be classified under “what could have been!” Lack of funding has caused us to underperform. Whatever Salah does is fine with me. I would like him to stay but if he goes he will always be a legend of LFC as will Klopp.

Lets not be one "player fc". It can become a serious danger. where you have to pull someone down to protect someone else, or you sense their reputation is attacked when other players are underperforming as well without the same level of scrutiny, something has gone wrong. Let us not become Manchester United, let us not become Player FC, lets stay Liverpool. When you feel you need to "defend" some player above defending the team and its outcomes ( and i mean the word " defend") somewhere down the line a mistake was made in your action process before you got to that point. Saying this to everyone in general.

LOve him and his output But i think it was a breech of his own professional standards, we praise in public and discipline in private right. Having said that, Its a symptom of the natural frustrations, of our team underperformance, and not least, his own standards, his recent underperformance. Would I be sad to see him go without one more title? Yes, my son is named after him. Do I see the value in maximising a potential transfer fee for further building of the team, yes I do. What happens will happen, and we shoudl accept and support the club. Nobody at the club is trying to limit our achievements, every body has the best intentions at heart.

Will you also consider its the lack of communication and plain stupidity by Klopp, changing the way we play to incorporate Nunez who can't finish? Salah's been asked to play deeper and prioritize his passing. Man if I was Salah and had to play with Diaz and Nunez and they keep missing clear cut chances I would lose my fucking mind. Then he gets injured, big disappointment with the Egyptian national team, wamts to come back and do well but the team collectively loses form. Then instead of playing the guy a decent amount of minutes to help him regain form, Klopp benches most of the game. He gets subbed on with 10 min to go!! 🙈 Klopp is happy wants a hug. Daft.

Its the right time to move Salah on. Even without what happened on the weekend, I was already thinking that. Just because he is a legend doesn't mean you keep him forever, new blood has been needed on the right for the last 2 years if not more, it's ok for Legends to move on, the same way Spurs sold Kane, I think it's just time.

I think this would be a huge mistake unless we can replace Nunez as the regular center forward. Salah has just not been worth his 350,000 a week when it really matters either this season or last. I think it's massively underestimated how crucial the synergy between Salah, Mane and Bobby was during Klopps best years. Salah is unfortunately aging more visibly in this inconsistent frontline. 2 more years with 35-30 million in wages and forgoing 80-100 million in transfer fee seems the wrong call to me

Don’t forget Diaz, he’s not been weighing in with his share and with only one recognised striker as a sub (Jota) who’s been out, it hurts bad when all three dry up. It’s not just Mo’s goals that have dried up it’s the assists he fed Darwin with, all of a sudden it’s all on Darwin because Salah and Diaz don’t score. Not saying Darwin needs to also buck up but we can’t scapegoat the lad just because the others are bad. I feel we’ve been a striker short for a season or two - why sit Danns on the bank and not use the lad when we need goals. Just stoopid.

@@andyballard1883_ I totally agree , Hwang Hee Chan has more goals than Nunez. Hwang is fractions of the price and more clinical. I van Toney same here, I'm thinking Patrick Schick, or even Deniz Undav. But we don't have to sell Nunez we could sell Jota and get two strikers, in one transfer season. Two strikers that will actually be healthy and respond to the call, is more than enough.

Salah is only as good as the players around him, he does not inspire those around him. His ego is disproportionate to his ability. The disrespect he showed Klopp is unforgivable, move him on today. Make an example of him and show the others that this behaviour will not be tolerated.

The formula of building team play around Sallah worked when his instincts (speed, touch, turns) were sharper than most. That is not the Sallah we have today. This is fast becoming an endowment effect. Liverpool (the club, the fans, even Klopp) is fundamentally an emotional phenomenon. We almost feel guilty to even suggest that Sallah has passed his best, but he has and the signs have been there for that last three years. The recent wonderful stats are because he is the focal point of our attack. Let's not be deluded. Unfortunately such hard decisions (sell a great star) are required. As much as I hate to say it, we have to learn from Man City's recent "cutthroat" transactions. They never wait until a player is completely finished. Such outcomes are inevitable in life. Sad but true. Sallah must go at the end of this season for us to optimize the residual revenue.

owners knew klopp was going long ago, why didn't they sell Salah when an eye-watering amount was being offered for someone that age? That was bad business.
