This Point of View Mountain biking video shows Graham, shop owner of Bike Bros., riding 3 Trails collectively called the Raptor Route. The 3 trails are Eagle Eye, Hawks Glide and Falcon Flow. Hawks Glide is a new trail as of 2023 and removes a few miles of gravel road from the previous version of the Raptor Route. They are blue descending trails accessed from Sand Flats Road about 10 miles up the road from the Slick Rock Trails and are also being treated as an alternate finish when riding the Whole Enchilada, removing some of the wheel/tire eating chunk on Porcupine but also some of the technical challenges (that some love, some can't ride) on the traditional Whole Enchilada.
If you're curious, this particular ride, at time of filming was the 19th fastest Strava time for the Raptor Route - Graham wishes he had time to do a no talking lap now to see if a top 10 trophy in Moab is possible.... but no time.
This video, or clips from it, are included in a Guide to Camping and Mountain Biking - largely intended for people to plan their first trip but many people will find it a useful resource even if they've visited before.
For those curious, I'm on the Giant Trance Advance Pro 2 29 (with some modifications). It is a phenomenal short travel trail bike.

Thanks for getting a video of the whole thing. I spent a week out in Moab and found the Raptor Route to be my favorite ride out there. Downhill and flowy while still having a good amount of chunk/tech was great. Lot of little side drops to play off on falcon flow. The views were great as well and it’s a nice break from all the up/down tech most other Moab rides have.

Totally agree. So fun. I posted largely because I keep telling people to add this to the trails they should ride while in Moab but they don't know what to expect.

This looks like one that my wife and I can both enjoy equally.

Yup, I rode it with my wife. She loved it and only stepped off for a couple brief steep ups and about 100 feet at the end of Hawks Glide (the steeps before the road).

Super video, Graham! And I loved your commentary. I especially liked you term ‘natural speed limit’, I guess, for me I would define it as fitness, ability and fear/courage, not necessarily in that order. Will see you soon! Hi to Andrea!

Thanks Frank. Now I'm going to have to watch to see where I said that... I have commentary goals, in this case wanting to explain the trails and give a bit of an idea of the trail surface so people know what to expect if they're thinking of riding it, after that I'm pretty much wingin' it.

@@BikeBrosBikeShop your welcome! And to add a bit more about ‘natural speed limit’ - terrain itself would have a speed limit, too fast, too slow, steepness and camber. Judging that with one’s own personal speed limit, man, that’s a lot of variables. Of course experience can tame a lot of that, but still the edge is never far away. Again, loved the vid.

This is beautiful I just finished up a south mtn ride in phoenix Arizona tonight. I watched a fat bike snow run from you yesterday, you mentioned about it’s good trainer conditions. Well I find the same in sand you have to keep your torso straight sometimes spreading your legs to balance like a manual. Get used to steering with the rear and DO not fight the bike, and have a “WHEELIE” type of attitude to push the rear tire down. Let the bike fall into its ruts and let it fall a bit when it wants to while leaning slightly opposite. Also it helps to rock your weight back and forth. It’s a nitch type of riding, your also feeling the earth underneath you. Bla bla 😂, I absolutely enjoy you, your honesty cycling wisdom. I just received my white and black Marin SQ3 29er in a large. Love the rear more engagement shimano micro spline hub. Did red theme with raceface Chester’s and red tubless presto’s Added 50mil with 31* rise stem put on difference Marin seat with longer rails going to order a one up 210mm dropper. I’m 6’-3/4” tall roughly 32-33” inseam. I choose to run ardent EXO’s tubeless front and rear. Bike is fast, blessings..

Ya, not sure why. The original GoPro footage was great but somehow by the time it got onto KZfaq the quality was bad. Anyone?
