Have to admit, I'm hoping you pursue the optics aspect of these printers. It's one reason I want one, so I can design and learn how optics work, and make a special bike lens, that's very tiny, but puts out a lot of light.

the simplest way to get a good focal point is to start with very small leds (Cree XP-L Hi 10W leds or more XQ-E Hi (smaller, less powerful, easier to focus) leds, note that you need to take one with the R or S bin, the lower bins than R or S don't produce that much light) the laser system wont help much at all, it's based on mirrors

Driving the bed blithely into the frame? Trinamic anybody? I've never been a fan of SLA, currently prototyping phase of an SLS printer that uses galvos, I still find it weird everybody got excited about SLA and everybody is running scared of SLS. That layer release process is ugliness, I didn't even know that was a thing with SLA, surely it should be swapping layer height before it too strongly attaches?
@fluffy_tail4365
@fluffy_tail4365 5 жыл бұрын
This is very interesting piece of hardware. Getting galvo mirrors with a whole lot of stuff for 1000€ is pretty good. I would love to see their max speed. Also if you ever want to play with the driving electronics make sure to separate the mirrors first so they can't bump into each other. Kind of destroyed a couple like this. Anyway trying 2P polymerization would be super cool, but to get to hyperfine resolution you need a good objective, and those are super costly. However with the right lenses you could get good results, without having to sacrifice too much speed.

CLIP (Carbon3d) uses Teflon AF2400 because it's ridiculously oxygen permeable, but the price is insanely high. If you ever discover a method to recreate this effect with cheaper materials I'd be very interested... I wonder if the material they use for contact lenses would be suitable or if they're nowhere near permeable enough...

I have one note about the quality of the content recently on this channel, I used to watch very good in-depth content about electronics but recently it is all about sponsorship and products that are more or less doesn't feel so good to use or even watch (I am talking about the Chinese products at least). You have talked about a lot of projects in the past that I really was excited about but all of them evaporated without any trace! Hope you will be back on the track soon and work on your old projects. No offense but as a viewer, this is my own opinion, hope you can accept it.

Welcome to KZfaq under demonatization. Google has created a situation where one must whore products in order to make a video worth it at all. For guys like Marco, it just means that any video that isn't showing off a sponsor is probably not worth the effort that could be spent on projects that actually make him money.

Thank you. I don't like money and I would forever make the content I used to for free. But because everything is so damned expensive, especially CNC parts, I am forced to play the game and accept what I can in spite of all the support I already get on Patreon. If I ever reach AvE levels, I will cheerfully quit my advertising side business and only accept awesome products such as this printer. Nothing has vanished, it's all still here.

Drying before curing? While all resins might not react the same, my understanding is that oxygen inhibits curing in 405nm resins (its even mentioned late in the video). Since I started peeling supports while immersed in ISP and then curing under water (after a rinse bath) I've never had another sticky print. They now feel like something from an injection mold instead of tacky Tester's Silver that never truly dried. Keep the part immersed in something once that film of unexposed resin is removed.

I know you're mostly just kidding, but right now two photon absorption would still cause a lot of excess heating if you want any decent speed to your printing since you need many photons to guarantee sufficient spatial and temporal overlap. You can get around this with using an entangled photon source, but that's something we're still working on so you'll have to wait a bit longer for that ;)
