At the beginning, being younger, Yui and Moa had the much higher, squeaky voices, but Moa really grew into her own voice later on. Su will always be Queen Su, but Moa has really grown into her own voice. I hope she gets more solo stuff going forward.

Moa is starting to sing more harmonies (like in Arkadia) and has a few solo parts (like in DA DA DANCE) in the latest album. Many fans do want to see her take on a more active singing role. Su will always be the main vocalist and Moa's main role will always be dancing and interacting with the crowd, but Moa has a beautiful voice that we all want to hear more of! They're going in that direction with the latest album as stated, but we all want more LOL.

The part about this version of the song is Moa’s devilish smile it’s cute but deadly at the same time and I love that with every time they perform this song (all of their bluray videos that I have) it’s almost like a traditional song that the girls and audience get to bond over witch makes the song so special to watch and experience together “as one”.

Great reaction! I love watching this performance of Moa singing for her 20th birthday. Imagine having 20,000 people bowing down to you and screaming for you! If you look carefully, a large portion of the crowd even got down on their knees. I love the tone of Moa's voice, but I think Su has the larger range and power. You can tell Su was meant to front a group, and she is perfectly comfortable being completely alone on a stage. Moa started to sound like she was getting tired, but that is understandable for the amount of dancing she had to do for all the songs before this one.

💕 / 🤘 Su sings this one in her lowest register. Moa's voice is even lower. : ) I agree that Moa sounds great here, but you can hear her running out of breath half way through. And that's with only one song, picked up in the middle. Su has a lot more power in her voice. Although pretty much every BABYMETAL fan would love for Moa to have a solo song on the next studio album. She did 'GJ!' as a solo on the 2018 tour. It sounded great.

That smirk of hers kills me every time I see this. I think the main reason we don't see Moa sing more often is that despite having a great voice, she doesn't have the same training and practice as Su to be able to sustain vocals while doing choreography. You can definitely tell that she's pretty tired out by the end of this performance, and her other recent big solo vocal break in Da Da Dance is always lip synced at live shows. She has taken over Yui's old role in leading the dance aspect of the performances, so I'd suppose she's pouring her training efforts into that rather than trying to beef up her singing chops.

Ye but before babymetal they were all on the same level, su had a better voice but she used to dance more and the girls used to sing. The producer used Su as an inspiration so she will always be the center. Su has easier choreos so she can sing better, in some songs she varely dances. if they wanted moa to sing they would give her an easy choreo too but she didnt even get a solo these past 2 years except for her birthday. Kingslayer is the first time she gets 2 lines alone which is crazy. Justice for moa

@@PalitoSelvatico She did have solos in the 2018 tour (she sang GJ by herself). Apparently in an interview she said she didn't really enjoy it. Haven't read that myself, but I saw it mentioned. You're forgetting her solo break in Da Da Dance. She has that as well. It's always lip synced live, but it's her voice at least.

this was after about an hour of the concert (which usually last about 80 minutes). So there was pretty much dancing before this part.

Moa's little smile while she held the mic in front of her was great. Always a fun great band, and you are right, their live versions are MUCH better and heavier. Su was just a kid when she recorded the studio version, and she was great for a 14 yo kid, but now almost 10 years later she's vastly improved. Su's job is hers, but Moa can do far more than just the small phrases ... In smaller shows when they aren't doing pro recording, Moa sings a lot more alongside Su, providing nice harmonies and they even have a little competition going on with some of the long held notes, like at the end of Road of Resistance. In the recorded big shows they follow the script.

to be fair, the held note competition isn't fair because MoaMetal didn't sing throughtout the hole show like SuMetal, so she probably has more vocal stamina rather than SuMetal at the end of the show thou.

Nice again & thanks from Japan 有難う💛。 You should remember Moa sang after hard performance as a dancer. She is another monster. Su-Metal said in a recent article that she admitted Moa was great because Su was totally exhausted after she danced Moa's part only in the latter half of this "Moabangeeerrr".

Its funny isn't it? Listening to Moa sing in this video and the way she phrases the vocals it sounds as if she is not used to singing for such long periods and has to break up the phrasing a bit to take a breath where SU seems to have no trouble at all. (Its still good mind you) - Then to hear that SU was exhausted at the physical aspects of Moa's dancing part since she is also not used to dancing in long stretches like Moa is. One can see why the parts are "split up" during the construction of the live performance for each part. Both of them have perfected their part of the show. Switching parts may have given each a new perspective on the other's talent and what they bring to the show in a more personal way. I noticed also that just before Moa's smirk she starts to sing "hedoban" and I think she had to stop herself from falling into her usual part and the smirk was the realization that she had done so and to stop herself. I also like the way she, "gave it her all", on the "Hedobangyarrrrrrrrrrr!" part at the end in a sence of triumphant accomplishment.

This is not the reaction I wad expecting at all from you guys it was a special treat. Moa on this song is amazing I do want to here more solo's from her. I also think when that when they perform some of their older songs now, it sounds soooo much better. It shows growth and I like how heavier they make them. Su's voice in a lot of them is literal butter! Moa can definitely stand on her own as well, when I first watched the video I lost all sense of reality 😂. Great reaction!

when は is used as a particle, it's typically written as "wa", particularly if it's going to be seen by a lot of people who know nothing about japanese. we want them to have some idea of how to say it, right? "kawaii wa seigi"

This is so nice.Her voice issss amazing too, Moa's voice is really an ideal voice for an Idol that's why her voice sounded really clean while Su's voice is leaned towards more powerful song due to her powerful voice, Moa just needs practice to make her voice stable and don't sound tired whilst doing choreography and while coming to an end. Twentieth birthday guys; Moa’s 21st birthday was mid-Pandemic- Su’s 23rd is next month, BM’s 10th was 2 weeks ago. The 2Oth is coming of age in Japan - traditionally that was when you could vote, buy cigarettes, marry, drive, buy your own drinks down the izakaya, etc, although a lot of these things can now be done at 17, 18, 19 now. It is the biggest birthday.

When I first heard this it convinced me Moa needs a solo song on the new album now that black babymetal is done. She also could perform something like GJ! live as a solo easily. You mentioned Su's more mature voice, I think one of the best examples of that is comparing Megitsune from Budokan to Megitsune from Legend Metal Galaxy 5+ years later. Her strength and tone is greatly improved and she was already very good. More Moa singing Koba! >:(

Moa's voice is as sweet as honey but she could never be compared to Su for this kind of music. I think Moa can be compared very well with people like Ayami Muto or Aiko Yamaide, not Su. (Ayami and Aiko were in Sakura Gakuin with the Babymetal girls and have nice solo singing careers going now.)

FYI: Both Moa and Yui have done this before. IIRC, it was on their 14th or 15th birthday shows (on Babymetal's 1st tour) that Su handed the mic to each one of them on their birthday and she took their place while Moa or Yui sang. There should be clips of Yuibanger out there still. This sounds heavier for a couple of reasons: First, that wasn't the classic lineup of the Kami band. They weren't available for this tour (BOH, Hideki and Ohmura were off doing shows for Kari Band, and Leda Cygnus and Isao were teaching), so you're hearing the "Kamis of the West" playing here. They were made up of members of Galactic Empire.

@@TheLeomarti Legend M was one of the last dates on the Metal Galaxy Tour, which was in 2019, BOH, Hideki, Leda, and Ohmura weren't available for the European and US legs of the tour. They did become available for the last show, which both Kami bands and all 3 Avengers were on stage for the show at the same time.

Hige-metal, you were wondering why Moa and Yui are not given more vocal parts but they actually had their own act within Babymetal. It is called Black Babymetal and has 4 songs : Gj ! ; 4 no uta; Onedari Daisakusen and Sis Anger, which are funnily enough some of their heaviest records to contrast with Yui and Moa cuteness. Maybe you should check some :) Loving those Beard-metal and Glasses-metal nicknames btw 😁 While I love Moa's deeper tone, I also think she does not have the power and range that Su has, as well as the assurance needed to front a band. However with more practice there could be a day when Moa has her own solo songs. Right now, her main role is dancing and crowd interactions so it could take a little time before we have some actual Moa solos.

Okay I'll do the "dirty old man" part for you. Su and especially Moa have grown up to be beautiful young women. Su was in Karen's Girls when Kobametal first saw her performing. He is the one who got Su into Sakura Gakuin because of the strength of her voice. He also created the "metal club" within Sakura Gakuin that evolved into Babymetal. No-one at the time had any idea that this would become a famous and popular international band. Trivia; Yui was at the same concert as Kobametal, and she decided that she wanted to dance and sing on stage!

I don't think Koba got Su into Sakura Gakuin. I think that SG is mostly the work of (Principal) Kuramoto who was able to get 2 of the Karen Girl's members (Ayami and Su) plus the 3 original members of mini-Pati which was a separate project at the time. He formed the core of the group around them adding in others already signed to Amuse to round out the group until he had 10 members. Kuramoto and Koba have drastically differing styles of production and Idol management from what I can tell. Within that, and given that SG was a training group, there was opportunity to experiment if no special budget for it. Koba was able to successfully advocate to do a heavy music club (sub-group) which he formed around Su, but that was some months after SG was put together. BTW, I believe that Yui and Moa were rehearsing with SG from the early days even though they were not formally announced until after they turned 11 a few months later.

@@TheWTZ1983, Karen Girl's was an Amuse production and Su was already signed the year before that. I don't know about a deal since Amuse holds auditions. But Kuramoto is also from Hiroshima (as are Perfume-san) so not saying Amuse doesn't actively scout there.

IDK what everyone else is hearing but Moa's vocals are in almost every BM track they are just subtle but if you listen carefully you can tell which parts are Moa and which are Su (and also Yui) Obviously live she can not do them but they are still there on the back track. Su and Moa were karaoke buddies from young, she has always been able to sing but prefers to dance and doesn't feel comfortable fronting which is why after Yui left they quickly dropped Black Babymetal from the set lists.

Had not heard that Su and Moa were Karaoke buddies from young since Su didn't hang out with the younger kids until her last year at SG. Before that there was also the distance since Su was still living in Hiroshima and attending ASH. And we do know that since then Su likes to go do Karaoke by herself so she can challenge different music.

Moa doesnt have the power and range of Su but I have always liked the natural tone of her voice, especially as she got older. It has a silky and smooth sound. Not to sound creepy since she is quite young (even still) but honestly, her voice is pretty sexy, in a very feminin and breathy way with a bit of natural vibrato.

Great reaction, Moa will always be our angel of love. Eric was right, the studio version sounded so bland especially when you already too get used to the live version. I never get bored of it, watching Headbanger live, never failed to amaze me every time. Anyway, i hope you guys reach to AKATSUKI and SYNCOPATION soon, keep the good work!

great content fellas, as a devout Su-Metalholic, it's a tad bit blasphemous to say Moa is just as good as Su, but she is very, very great on vocals. Moa has spoken in interviews about wanting to have her own song about food, but she is not really comfortable out front by herself, at the Legend S shows when Yui first disappeared, she was very nervous about doing the Black Babymetal songs by herself, but she psyched herself up for it and killed it, in the 2018 tour she did house shows with her own backup dancers for the BBM classic GJ and killed it again. she is a super lady who prefers to focus on different dance styles from around the world. Also at her 20th birthday shows(2) she played the acoustic guitar for the debut of "Shine" she asked Koba to tone down her part because she didn't feel comfortable playing any difficult riffs, she has a tendency to lose a little interest in things that she is working on, but since Yui left and their high profile choreographer has let Moa lead the choreo, she has found her passion for dance.

I need to watch the whole Legend S show! I didn't know they performed BLACK BABYMETAL songs in that one. I've seen some performances from that show, but seeing them perform the same choreography but without Yui, kind of made it hard for me to watch. I felt happy and sad at the same time.

"she can definitely front her own band" without a doubt. they are all trained idols, Moa, Su and even MOMOKO who all came from the same group if you seen any of the SG videos, you can see plenty of songs where Moa does extensive singing, and Su can dance. while her style is "uique' especially when she was younger, mikkio has said that su picks up the steps very fast and she always give it her all. its the kind of professinal all these girls are

Nice reaction! While Su has amazing singing technics and is the main vocalist, *all* the girls in Babymetal are at least above average singers. That includes Yui and the 3 avengers, Momoko, Riho and Kano, dispite they're not being allowed to sing. (Yet?) They all came from the same teen idol group, Sakura Gakuin.

Riho is the only one not to have been in Sakura Gakuin, she was a former member of another idol group Morning Musume. However she actually has a longer relationship to Su-metal than any other member, even Moametal. Riho is from Hiroshima, Su-metal's home town, and both of them were students together at ASH (Actor's School Hiroshima), this was well before Sakura Gakuin and even before Su-metal was in Karen Girl's.

@@RaginKavu Riho posted on her IG that she had signed with Japan Music Entertainment as a solo artist. So with her not being with Amuse anymore, I'd assume her days in BM are over. I've heard that since Kano is a member of the band "@onefive", another SG idol offshoot band, that it may be Momoko who appears more often as the Avenger with BM. She was the one performing with Su-Metal and Moametal on the NHK Songs of Tokyo tv show last month.

Moa has stated in multiple interviews that she loves listening to Su's voice. As you know Moa love Su. Moa further stated that as s duo, Su is "in charge" of vocals and unofficially Moa is in charge of dance. Moa has assumed responsibility for teaching and adjusting her dancing to match the style of each Avengers. Moa went on to say that she has little desire to sing preferring Su to lead. So when Moa does sing it becomes more special. Don't expect her to do too many solos or leads, it's not what she wants. Her voice is just not trained enough to do multiple songs. [Personal comment: I think part of why Moa doesn't sing more is her relationship with Su as her Sempai (先輩)]
