Hey all, The procrastinator is here. Sorry I didn't get a follow up video up earlier. But as you can see all is well. Recover is going great. I would say that it's perfect. But Some would tell me that I am still over doing it. Everyone is different in their healing and recovery. Take it easy and listen to your Dr. and your body. Your body will tell you if you are over doing it.

So glad that you're doing better! What a time to go through it. I had my Mobi-C C-4 surgery 5 years ago and all well now. First few months were tough, especially since I'm allergic to pain medication. But you're correct, in hindsight, one barely remembers the tough moments, just the great outcome! Congratulations! 🍃

How long did it take to become pain free? I'm 4 months out and still get tightness and pain
@circa1890
@circa1890 2 жыл бұрын
@@junaidshahid848 It was about 3 or so months before the stiffness had totally gone away. I did start going to a massage therapist about 6 weeks post - which helped immensely. I walked through what I felt comfortable with and showed him an x-ray so he'd be gentle. It took about a year to fully trust that it was going to stay in-place and to feel comfy day-to-day. Now 6 years later .. I haven't had any issues and no pain. Best decision I ever made. So happy for you but the first 6 months it still feels awkward and some pain.

@@circa1890 thank you for your response. Yeah I'm month 4 now. I get sudden stiffness time to time and nerve pain. Doctors said it takes 6 months to a year for nerve healing to be done. Was curious how your experience was.

@@junaidshahid848 Your doctors are correct.. takes about that long. I do recommend gentle (trusted) massage especially arms, shoulders, and upper back. I also walked everyday for about 4miles with a slight chin-tuck, upright back, and swaying arms loosely. Just loosening the body up and not tensing up. I don't know how bad it was for you prior to your Mobi. I was in deep pain for 8 months and finally was told by my insurance that I could get an MRI. It showed that my disc was digging into my spinal cord by 40% - they had to do emergency surgery. So a lot of nerve damage had transpired. I gained back all mobility and the nerve pain subsided in those 6 months. But those first months aren't pleasant (they were terrible) but I was just happy to be alive even with the pain. Try to relax, have a nice small drink in the evenings, use a McKenzie pillow roll in front of your pillow to stabilize your neck as you sleep (can sleep on side or back with it), eat healthy, drink water, treat yourself well to lessen inflamation. You're in recovery and in the home stretch of the worst of it. ⚘

I'm glad I was able to ease some anxiety. It's been 7 months PO for me, and this surgery was the best thing I did. I am pain free and doing much better. I sometimes forget I even had the surgery. Good luck to you and be well.

Ortho was telling me take it easy and if my arm gets weak they might have to do a fusion. I really don't want that. I'd rather have a disc replacement if possible.

Hi, Although I took a break from youtube, I am planning on doing a one year update next month. I will tell you that I am fully healed and can say I do not have the numbness and pain that I once had. I sometimes forget I even had the surgery. I understand it's a hard choice to make, But talk to your Dr's they can help guide you. Take care.

I have a question. I am scheduled for MOBI-C disc replacement. I have the tingling in my arms etc, but I also have mobility issues in my legs. I had a c-4 to c-7 fusion back in 2000. My spinal cord is being crushed. Did you have walking issues ?
@highroller777

Thank you very much for the video. Is the pinched nerve pain has to do with the neck surgery ?
@highroller777
@highroller777 3 жыл бұрын
No, the pinched nerve is do to shoulder impingement. I've been able to do some PT on my own and it's been resolved for now. I am 100% pain free.
