Time to make a new video and disclose you have a digital step in the process

Here in 2022 during MoFi-gate. Britton: “People ask us, is it an all analog mastering chain? It is.” NOPE. That’s a full on lie by the Mobile Fidelity folks. They just admitted to cutting everything from DSD files since at least 2015 and maybe waaay earlier than that.
@rabarebra2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, look at Britton's face. Face and expressions only a liar will show. Creepy guy.
@DanandJoeMusic2 жыл бұрын
Yep, blatant lie. (That and, of course, “Mastered from the original master tapes” on all their promos and liner notes for years….)
@Darrin.Crawford Жыл бұрын
No, you're wrong. You obviously don't understand the process and what these guys said. “People ask us, is it an all analog mastering chain? It is.” He didn't lie. There's a fundamental difference between mastering and cutting the album to vinyl. They do in fact "master" from the analog tapes. So when he says its an all analog mastering chain there is no lie. The problem is you are such analog snobs you think the whole process should be analog all the way through....which I can appreciate but no one pulled the wool over your eyes whatsoever.

In light of today’s revelation- this didn’t age well regarding the all analog chain

Yes, I noticed the "all Analogue" claim right away too. And also the year 2015 in regards to the 4X DSD implementation.
@sadboi75372 жыл бұрын
Given everything we know now, I’m pretty sure digital has been apart of the chain from probably 2007 and forward.

1:30 - 100% not true and they knew it.. I guess technically they do have a all analog cutting system they just don't use it for that. Edit: I just want to say that these guys still put out some of the best sounding records I have. I just wish they would have championed for DSD instead of misleading customers.

Exactly. Mofi is done.

This MoFi-gate story just keeps getting more and more interesting! I wonder what other old video clips and quotes from interviews and company emails to their customers are going to surface.

For those who can 'hear' the difference, no mastering facility on the planet does it better. I have The Beatles Collection vinyl box set from the 80's and several SACD's from MoFi. Keep up the good work

I had a revelation that this hobby was nothing but a scam about nine months ago. This was after encountering a record store that invited me in as a technician to work on customers equipment. I learned a lot about how he bought records from people off the street and really they don’t respect appreciate or care about their customers they just want their collections they know that they can sell them at a market as fuck face would buy records at almost $.30 apiece and then turn around and sell them for three to $15. Fuck face also didn’t pay his bill. For the most part I avoid anything to do with vinyl I work on equipment from 1940s to 1970s sometimes earlier depending on the manufacture, and I’m gonna tell you now the vinyl community is a little off their rocker a lot of hoarders within that hobby. And I don’t mean people with money holding on the valley bullshit I mean just hoarders like books and magazines and newspapers in animal shit.

The 1980 s Gain 2 were not so kind to my ears as Gain (1) - You might think as these guys belive by gain 2 it was better since it later - maybe it was but I listened fever times to Gain 2 vinyl and some like the Rolling Stones sticky finger - well fantastic recording - could not listen so much - I didn't hate but I rather listened to the sales stickyfingers I bought years earlier for much less money. -Even today i would buy ( if i could) Gain and not gain 2 vinyl
