I bought a 1/2 inch drive gearless ratchet for just those occasions. I loosen the bolt with my geared ratchet and use the gearless to take the bolt out. Good video.

Those starters are the pits sometimes, some are fairly easy, but I've my share that are hell to come off.

Stay healthy Bro, we need you around. I always get a kick out of listening to you and the way you say things. Right now I am working on a vehicle that a guy likes to buy that don't run and resells them. This vehicle has bad sensors bad wiring that is dry rotted and corroded, bad fuses, bad relays and a slew of other things to keep the car from not starting. (The guy actually said to me why is this costing me so much to fix I only but it for 200 bucks) I told him the old saying you get what you paid for. On another note for jacks wish I had one of those portable quickjacks like the 7000 model. but no 1800 buckaroo's at the moment. Take care bud and stay safe.

On your starter ground wire, I would have used a marine style heat shrink to keep the exposed wiring clean. Otherwise a great job. Heh, I just bought a Lisle electrical disconnect plier P/N 37960 at O'Reillys--really useful for disconnecting MAF sensors etc. Cost $29.00. You'd probably love it.

I did a starter in the uk last week on a 2014 peugeot partner. No access to the bolts, working blind, no room to get it out from the rear of the engine! Very tricky job on these euro cars

I'm about to try and start running again. Hopefully can get back into some shape and avoid repeating last summer's heat stroke. I haven't ran since about 2 years after my dd-214. What are the odds I'll be able to put down 2 miles first try? Ha!

That starter has been changed before you could see tue witness marks on some of the bolts. I would bet that's what made them all so lose.

Hey Thomas, quick question. Big fan btw. I have a p0115 code popping up on my 98 Camry, but no symptoms. Scanner is showing me it's the coolant temp sensor. Where should I start? Should I replace the sensor first? Also do I need to drain the coolant if I do change the sensor? Lmk man love your channel

I guess we just top coolant after replacing coolant temperature sensor. I just did mine and it worked
