Great multi-use design! You can use it to jack up your car when it’s time to change the oil, or lift up the corner of your house if you need to repair the foundation!

Nice to see you stopped short before you built the landing gear for a C-5A Galaxy.

One thing to make it even more effortless, is having a nut welded to the acme screw ends, so u can use a drill and socket to move the jack accordingly, instead of hand cranking. Beefy!

Great lift. Really well built. Well over engineered but hey why not, it will definitely lift the bench fully loaded. Well done.

I can't believe you made your own linear bearings. Seems like such a daunting task.😄 That setup you made should lift half your shop and still roll. Good work.

Just get some 6” casters that are really good. And Rockler has some detachable casters that can be used on whatever equipment you put the corresponding hardware. On the other hand, I get that it’s a fun challenge to create your own solution, although I, too, think that your solution is totally overkill, especially for a bench with 2x4 legs and a plywood or MDF top.

The square tubing used was plenty big, for sure. In this application it worked great for mounting to the ends. Spacing was just right. The table has a thick MDF material but the legs and back are steel. It came out of an old microwave factory. I've got wheels on almost everything in the shop. Problem is a table that sits just on wheels isn't solid. This is OK for some things but not all. Having the bench sit on feet but still be easily mobile is the perfect combination. Thanks for the comment!!

You should add the bonus feature to this beast: some wire or bike chain to cope both jacks together si You could rise both ends simultaneously with drilldriver. 😂👌

I like your version because it does not take up the whole middle bottom of the cabinet....how often does one move these workbench if extremely often then this version makes a lot of sense.....

I know that you were using materials that you had around the shop but it just seems like overkill using those heavy duty pieces of materials. However the concept is great and thanks for sharing with us.

Ain't no kill like overkill. Plan on building car frames on the table?

Bench is only 2 1/2 foot by 5 foot so no car frames, but lots of plans. Stay tuned. Thanks for the comment!!

I like your idea, I was planning to use a scissor jack for my heavy workbench (700 lb fully loaded) I’m trying to come up with a way to lift both ends with one scissor jack ( mid section of an 8 ft Workbench) using linkages. Any ideas ? Thanks in advance.

For some inspiration check out my torque tube workbench lift video for a simple way to apply force to both ends of the bench with one motion. Thanks for the question!
