Here's a behind-the-scenes video of a shoot I did recently with model Nelle. I shot together with my friend Wilhelm Westergren. In this video I explain how we made some pictures and how it is to work with the Fujifilm GFX50S in combination with vintage Minolta Rokkor lenses and a Kipon adapter.

Have you ever tried the Mamiya 645 80mm f1.9 or the 120mm f4 macro on the GFX? I love both of these lenses adapted to the X trans sensor.

I hear you. Your video are very well shot and edited. I was a video producer ETC! for many years. I was alwys into using alternative cameras instead of taking out loans. Now that it is mostly behindg me I find it hard to even edit family videos into a simple string!

Love the video as usual! I see you have a MS Surface Pro on the desk. Are you using that for you're editing, etc? I've been looking at them and am thinking about getting one to replace my Macbook Pro.

I've been using it as my only computer for the last month. It's not without its flaws but I definitely like it. I'll be doing a video about it soon.

Dumb question, hope someone can help. I'm looking to purchase the gfx 50r and love it for the 65:24 panorama (closest I'll get to xpan). Does anyone know if i can still shoot 65:24 with Minolta lenses?

You definitely can! The X-pan format will get rid of the vignetting in the corners.

I purchased a Nikon to GFX adapter by Fotodiox. I tested with the trinity of Nikon lenses (24-70mm, 85mm, 70-200mm). They all introduce noticeable amount of vignetting. I posted the results on B&H website. You almost throw out more than 30% of the pixels, which defeats the point of having 50 MP. You'd better shoot with a 36 MP Nikon D810. At least, you don't waste time on editing. For the adapter I paid nearly $200, which is to me a waste of money now. Second reason is that 35mm lenses are not made to support such a high resolution (not enough amount of efficient light transmission for a quality image rendition). The images might look more tolerant on a digital screen for sharing on social media etc., but the result might not as compromising in print and any commercial use. So, using 35mm lenses on GFX seems to be pointless, unless you are after some specific artistic look, maybe. The only working option could be using old medium format camera lenses, I think.

Some 35mm lenses do better than others. But like I said in the video, the Minolta lenses (and probably the majority of 35mm lenses) are no match for the Fuji GF-lenses when it comes to sharpness, resolution and image quality in general. The only reason why I like to use them is for the unique look.

I never liked fujifilm pastel colour tones. And whats the point to use old and cheap lenses on so expensive medium format camera? If you can afford Fujifilm GFX you have to afford lenses for this mount.
