EDIT: People keep asking this in the comments because I forgot to put in in the video. Jason (Halani's Husband) manages a very successful gym. He does not sit at home all day. If that were the case, I would have been very adamant in saying that he should be doing all of the housework and traditional female jobs. Though I did say that both of them were working parents so I guess I didn't leave it out entirely.
This video is a commentary on Wife Swap Season 1 Episode 2 (2019)

@@fish1389 After you learn how to cut vegetables, practice cooking eggs. They are cheap, delicate, and can be cooked many ways. If you mess up, you can throw them out. Also, if you just mess up a little, you can tell the difference when you eat them. When you are ready for meat, practice sauté with chicken tenders. You will build touch and technique because the meat is sensitive to time and temperature and you will learn the limits of different quality ingredients. This episode that is referenced in this video is very simple. The show's producers put the peacemakers in both families under the same roof. That just leaves negativity to feed on itself in the other one. This was probably like a week's vacation for the two peacemakers and a pure week of hell for their spouses.

I’m a full-time stay-at-home wife/mom. My husband shouldn’t have to come home and cook, clean, do laundry, etc. after a full day of work. And it always kills me when a woman goes, “Why should I have to cook and clean for SOME MAN?!” He’s not “some man”, he’s your husband??? Taking care of my family IS my full-time job; my family always has clean clothes to wear, the house is always neat, there’s a hot meal waiting when my husband gets home, if our daughter is sick at 3:00 a.m., I get up and look after her. Some women choose to do this, even if it offends feminists’ sensibilities.

I absolutely agree. I haven't found anyone to marry yet but when I do, I would take pride in taking care of my husband and family. The problem I DO have, is when modern men expect their wives to cook, clean, look after the house and kids AND also work a 40 hour week because "we need more money" and "you need to contribute financially". I'm happy to be a housewife as a full time job, but f him if a man expects me to have a full time day job on top of that.

@@notmanymore1521 Of course, if both spouses are working outside the home, then they both should split the household chores. I always worked before our daughter was born and went back to work for a while shortly after she was born. We always split the housework at the time. My husband worked days and I worked nights, so one of us would always be home with her and we wouldn’t have to put her in daycare. We would take turns cooking or doing the laundry, etc. After a while, I switched to staying at home full-time and now, I do everything in the house because I feel that is my job. But of course it would be ridiculous for only one spouse to still be expected to come home and do everything around the house when both are working. That would be too much and unfair.

@@captainblood9616 Thank you; we feel very fortunate that we are able to have the situation we have. I know it isn’t an option for every family to have one parent stay home, so we are very grateful. I was raised by my aunt and uncle and they both had to work; we never had much growing up, but we got by. My husband and I just don’t want to leave our daughter with strangers to look after her if we can avoid it. Again, before anybody gets offended, I completely understand that’s not an option for every family, but we decided it was best for us. I can be there whenever my family needs me and I feel blessed to have that. Before I met my husband, I earned my college degree and started working for Bank of America - I worked 60 hours a week, had designer clothes, drove a nice car. I was absolutely miserable. My boss, a woman, once said at a staff meeting, “This bank is the most important thing in your life. It’s more important than your family, friends, school, second job, etc. You need to drop everything else when this job needs you.” This woman was 50 years-old and lived with a bunch of cats. She made six figures, but she had no life outside the office and I shuddered to think that was my future. After she said that, I turned in my resignation letter the next day. I moved to Switzerland for a while to take some time off and reflect. I came back to the States flat broke and unsure what to do next, but I knew no more high-powered corporate jobs for me. I took a job waitressing at a restaurant where I made a lot less money but also had a lot less stress. I met my husband there and now we have a family 🥰 I think everyone should live however they are happy; if it’s working a high-powered job, good for them. If it’s being a wife/mom, also good for them. I feel very blessed to have a family and be able to devote my time to them 24/7

It's about destroying the family unit. Feminists hate traditional customs, cultures, and traditions. They see everything in a relationship as a win/lose situation where they must *always* win, and think "traditional gender roles" can only be oppressive (as if men somehow only benefit, and are never disadvantaged, from their traditional roles). Feminism is a flawed ideology that completely misunderstands human nature, and refuses to accept that there's WISDOM in tradition, not just discrimination.

One of the men who goes to the church I used to attend said that when he first talked to his wife (before they married) about their roles in the house, she asked him "Why I gotta cook and clean? You can't do that yourself? Aren't you a grown man?" His response (which I will NEVER forget) was "If you wanna switch roles and do my part in this relationship, you can. Get up at 5am, put my work boots on, and go to the construction sites I work at to keep a roof over our heads. If you DON'T want to break your back for 9-10 hours a day lifting, moving, and working with heavy construction materials while I cook, clean, and maintain the house, then you and I can keep our respective roles for the good of this household." Ladies, please hear what I'm about to say. It's something my old pastor once said. She said "Ladies, if he's out there working hard for a company that doesn't care about him or hates him, the least you can do is work hard for a man that cares about and loves you. You could easily swap roles and 9 times out of 10, only one of you won't like it. And that one will be you."

the real thing with stuff like this is that you never know how good a traditional house wife is until you have to spend a few days without them. A career woman is easily replaceable. a male roommate can give you 90% of what they offer. When a housewife is gone for 3 days the family misses them every second of everyday.

For sure. My mom went on a girl's trip so I took on some of her roles like waking the kids up and trying to clean some stuff up. My little brother cried because he didn't want her to leave and she herself almost cried while going. When she came back she brought sweets and rewarded me with a patch for my jacket. We all loved her and missed her so much.

all the so called housewives I know spend their days running round coffee mornings and wasting time. Their houses are not clean and they eat instant meals. Their children are also grown up and gone. I have always worked full time and I manage to run a house and raise my family a lot better than they ever did. I also earn a lot more than my husband ever did so the choice was never there.

Every so often I return to this video. I watch the interaction between Misty and Jason. They have great chemistry which is sad because they are not married to each other. I look at how people responded to Helani compared to Misty. Misty got what she wanted generally but she made everyone happy at the same time. The kids did not like giving up their phones at first and neither did Jason, but she didn’t come at as confrontational like Helani did. She did not raise her voice or insult anyone. She brought the family close together, and brought Jason closer to his kids. I am a young unmarried woman, and I plan to marry as soon as I can. This video shows the different approach’s women take with their kids and husbands. And how they play out. If you come at things with love and care in mind and treat your spouse with respect you can get a lot more done than of you berate them. And try to find a spouse who will respond well to your submission. Kevin was kinda annoying sometimes but in the full show he actually apologizes to Helani and tries to work with her. Helani rejects this and continues to insult him. Its a reality tv show which is often fake but I have seen this exact scenario play out in real life many times. Gotta keep this in mind when I get married.

Cooking is something that first of all is not limited to just women, but to men as well, my mother though me how to cook when i was 12 because like she said "being able to provide for yourself in any situation is the best feature for a person". Second cooking is a skill that you can impress other people with. Cooking should be a basic skill for every human being. It's survival. Also, it's a good skill to have if you're poor and can't afford constant trips to the restaurant.
@mrkiky
@mrkiky 3 жыл бұрын
Well if you can afford frequent trips to the restaurant or to order everyday, it's just as valid for survival as cooking yourself. That's what society is all about. It's about everyone highly specializing in a skill and offering to everyone who needs it in return for getting highly specialized people doing stuff that they can't do. Let's face it, we're all highly dependent on society. If you wanna talk about pure survival, none of us have the "essential skill". Going to the grocery store, buying ingredients and cooking them over your electric stove won't help you. You're not the one growing those vegetables, you're not the one hunting those animals, you're not the one making the fire, you're not one making the tools you use. Everything is offered to you by people who are better at it than you. So if I can perform my specialized skill for 1h every day instead of cooking and the payment for that 1h allows me to buy meals for the whole day, I don't see anything wrong with that.

@@mrkiky Well your statement obviously doesn't understand the value of cooking on your own. If you knew how to cook, you'd realize that no restaurant in the world will ever cook the food exactly how you want it, exactly how nutrious how it should be. Ever realized that the woman leaving the home into workforce has also coincided with the obesity pandemic in most of the Western World as a result of poor food choices. Till now I have not found a single restaurant that was able to cook as delicious food as I could so with much positive energy. Why? Because the people at restaurants are just employees, and they don't give a fuck with whatever emotions they cook food. But when you cook for yourself (or in old times a woman would for the entire family), it would be out of love and care. Money can never equal that.

Just like how people who have amazing roadside service insurance could possibly end up with a flat in the middle of nowhere without phone service. @Adolf Lansher I find both spouses can be really significant regardless what responsibilities they take. Plus some people do need their spouse to work as well to have enough for rent they live in while still have enough for food on the table. If both spouses can have skills that can be applied to the workfield if can give better security for their family. I knew some family friends after their military service would take care of their house and kids until he or she got a civilian jobs. In some places it can take a few months on average to find a new job. So if your job is preparing to lay you off, during the time you look for a new job you may really need emergency funds, reliance of your spouse or anyone who will help or else you can get pretty screwed. Having a spouse who does can also have emotional and financial. Plus it may be frustrating but it is important to take care of you belongings. So if. You say have a house you would likely want the environment clean regardless whether or not you have a spouse. Keeping a place clean can involve more than one person if more than one person lives there. Let say of you don't like to pick up after others you should not expect them to pickup after you and be thankful if they help. My sister and her boyfriend basically clean immediately when they notice a mess so they basically never need to do deep clean for their house. Though if you want a woman to who proficiently cleans the house, do the meals and rears the kids most of the time, go for it. Regardless I do believe people would prefer a skillful partner that they could be on the same page with.

Meanwhile, the Filipino woman listened to her with confusion and disapproval plainly evident on her face. This touched off a low key fight between the two and, as a result, that coworker and his wife were never invited again.

For one example I was drawing figures in a sketchbook but they all looked really bad, but then I thought really hard and realized that the reason they looked bad was because I wasn’t “finishing” them. They were all just straight vague lines with no shading, line weight variation, or any fundamental detail. I think with women working, each couple does need to find a balance of chores. My parents were traditional and that’s a good system, but hard to maintain if women are working. It’s not even so much women deciding to work today, most have to work because supporting a family on one income is very hard. I know men that prefer to cook, so the wife does the dishes. Or some husbands take on the laundry, or the food shopping. Hopefully each has different strengths or interests. One wife I know loves the lawn stuff, mowing, weed whacking, pulling the weeds, etc, and the husband likes to cook. Whatever works for you. Women will think Misty is a doormat, but she sees her job as cooking, cleaning, errands, organizing, etc. Jack seemed like maybe he could be more appreciative, but maybe this experience he will see he has it pretty good, lol.

Blacks are primarily raised by their mothers. The stereotype about black single mothers isn't even a stereotype anymore nor a meme, its actual fact. As one myself, I can attest to how this upbringing absolutely destroys many men's potential and infantilizes their mentality. When you see the news about how young black men are overly emotional, quick to take offense and expect results for little dedication or work, where do you think that comes from? They're essentially females in male bodies. Even years later, men who manage to escape struggle to deprogram themselves and learn skills men raised in healthy families take for granted.

We stay in Church, face things together, and have agreed to not live together unless we’re married (she’ll come stay with me some weekends) one morning I woke up and she had cleaned my kitchen and made me breakfast, after we ate together I noticed she slipped away and made my bed. I’m not a slob don’t get me wrong, but her little touches that didn’t even take an hour turned my little apartment into a HOME. A real, home. And I couldn’t help but think about how I want to make a new life with this woman. We’ve done a horrible disservice to young women by understating how life changing traditional values can be. And mind you, she didn’t do this from me asking, she was just choosing to show her appreciation for me. And I gotta say, every moment I get I brag about having her. @@alexferguson6172 marry her. Just do it. Men WANT to be cared for too. The split everything 50/50 isn’t how it was designed. God designed us to biologically care for different things. If each one is doing what is NATURAL it’s quite easy. When women are being told “we’re equal to men” it’s a lie. I have a role designed for me, you have one. When we do our designed jobs we are much more content, more peace, more money, more content. Congratulations on finding her. She is just as lucky as you are. Marry her. Build that HOME. Together

@@simplelifeinfo3913 As said by someone who doesn't understasnd the true value of a traditional woman, and why such a woman has been preferred for millennia. She provides a constant safe haven for both her husband and children. She shows love without constantly setting conditions. The man can trust her to do exactly what he needs from her, instead of making constant deals with her to do things necessary in the household. The man and children have almost no fear of her leaving them, and a traditional family ends in divorce only a fraction of the times a modern family does. Whilst a traditional family is a true partnership, a modern family is more like a negotiated deal that expires every month and needs to be reworked to keep both parties happy. Sure, there are some downsides to traditional families too, but I'd rather work on those downsides than change into the shitshow that is modern relationships.

@@29-arnavsamant97 no, the word is correlation. Because you don’t have cited sources that prove that feminism is the cause of increased divorce rates. As divorce rates have increased, so has the difference between the salaries of those on the lowest end of the income Cale and the highest, but you wouldn’t automatically assume it’s causation unless you had proof of it.

You all Trad Wife Stans might say how miserable the life of working women is. But there is deep sadness in Misty’s eyes. She is trying to hide all her emotions behind her smile. I am a straight male and even I can’t think of being married to Jack for one sec. This man is intolerable and unbearable to live with. He makes fun of her being a fire chief. Meanwhile he is into “marketing” meaning he possibly sales solar panels or worse some MLM stuff to people and he is the one to make fun of firemen. Also what kinda sicko would have rule which requires his wife to put on makeup inside their house. This and him telling his kids to knock before they leave means he is s€x hungry maniac who wanted trad wife so he can get it on all the time even when kids are in some other room. Can you imagine living in that small a$$ house and you have to knock everytime you wanna leave your room. This thing is gonna ruin their childhood way more than their mother going to work.
