These elevators were located at a Very Antiquated and Screechingly 1950s Hospital located right on the base of Mont Royal just outside of Downtown. The Hospital opened in 1955, and has a total of 3 towers with these elevators being located in the tallest Main Tower of the Hospital. Unfortunately, the elevators here aren't original to the building and thus don't quite match the antiquated feel of the Hospital, but they still have quite a bit of character from original lanterns, charmingly vintage antiquated doors, a redone cab with a REALLY COOL Ceiling, the OG Autotronic panels in the lobby still in use (didn't catch them on camera due to security) as well as the Original Vintage Indicators (which interestingly are the 70s square light kind which makes me wonder if these were modded once prior ro the 90s Dewhurst mod these have today). That said though, while a lot of charm remains, the Dewhurst fixtures are really ugly and generic and these run like generic elevators too.
Fortunately, the Service Elevators here are still original 19 STORY Otis Black Button Elevators and interestingly enough, they appear to be added on as these have the "Newer" 60s style Lexan Black Buttons as well as the 60s style indicator and no "Christmas lights" for any of the arrows. (note that this hospital was completed in 1955) Unfortunately, we couldn't ride them as they were totally locked, but I did still manage to get a look inside of them, which that alone was quite a cool and amazing experience! Hopefully I/someone else will get to ride them someday, but with that being said, as always, I hope you enjoy the video!
Installed in 1955 (Main Elevators, Otis Autotronic Traffic Timed Elevators with either Pop Out Buttons or Square Touch/Heat Sensitive Buttons) and Circa 1960s (Service Elevators, Otis Black Button).
Modernized in Circa 1990s. (Main Elevators only, Generic modernization with Dewhurst US89 Fixtures, New Cabs, New Controllers and possibly new motors. Doors and lanterns left as is, indicators original from a replacement done in the 70s, unknown whether or not these elevators were modded once prior to this mod.)
