I am a hard core Colm Wilkinson fan on this song. But I adored Alfie singing it, and his performance in the show as well. He's wonderful!

Aside from his solo career Alfie Boe also records and tours with Michael Ball, who was the original Marius in Les Mis. He sings "Bring Him Home" in almost every concert (usually a bit better than in the video you saw) and the two of them sing everything from "The Prayer" to "Wham" and "Queen" covers. They're a hoot to watch. I think you'd enjoy them.

Oh, my! Tears at the first note! I love this song from “Le Mis”! An amazing singer! The standing ovation is the highest honor a singer, actor, or music performer can receive. It means you have touch the hearts and soul of the audience. Thank you, Ty! Now where did I put my box of tissue? I need to wipe my tears. 😭❤️

Empty chairs at empty tables is another beautiful song from Les Miserable which would be a great follow up to this. It is the song that the boy who is prayed for (Marius) sings when he survives. I would suggest the rendition by Michael Ball.

All the songs from Les Miserables are great stand alone songs , and the stage show is fantastic ... but for pure entertainment ( even if the singing isn't always up to par , possibly with the exception of Anne Hathaway ) the movie with Hugh Jackman and Russell Crowe is hard to beat . It puts all the songs in context .

Alfie Boe is great. However, when the writers were constructing this song for Les Miserables they crafted it specifically for Colm Wilkinson's voice.

....and ALFIE BOE is on another level of talent, beyond all those other brilliant vocalists! That is no disrespect to Colm...it just IS REALITY!

They’re both amazing in different ways. Colm is more rough and emotional and alfie is more trained and restrained. And both made me bawl like a toddler when I saw them sing live. They get to the emotion in different ways.

I love Colm but if I have to chose the best Valjean, I have to go with Alfie. It's almost a tie between them.

That was beautiful! Yes, I've caught myself speeding when I have rock music going and going slower with calming songs. When I was in my early 20's I would be on a back road and start breaking to the beat of a song, or..kind of swerving from left to right with the beat. Sometimes my Mama would be with me and she would actually laugh. I told her I was making my car dance. I finally stopped when my husband told me I would ruin the brakes. I had the fastest car in town...383 Magnum engine. The silly things we do at a young age..did some racing, too..won every time!

Alfie Boe is an absolute legend of musical stage. In the UK, he is seen as one of, if not the best. If you’re interested in listening to some musical stuff, say the word. I’m sure loads of people would be pleased to suggest stuff. I def would, but I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea.

Alfie's guitarist/Musical Director is a dear friend of mine - Murray Gould, fantastic musician and all round lovely chap! The venue is the Royal Albert Hall. The man who got the speeding ticket, was he listening to 'Highway Star' by Deep Purple by any chance? Murray's also played with some of the guys from that band also.

Alfie Boe has an incredible voice. This song in particular always gets me. It’s a song near the end of Les Miserables when his character has saved a young man who is in love with his daughter. This song is his plea to god to save the young man’s life. It truly feels like a prayer.

Try this, put Glen Campbell's Southern Nights on loud. Hold your arms straight out to the side, then try to resist someone trying to pull them down. You won't be able to resist at all. The beat of that song makes your brain think you're having a heart attack and the strength will leave your limbs. There's a Stevie Wonder song that has the same effect, Sir Duke I think.
