I have trained at this gym for 4.5 years. In the beginning, I struggled with doing simple jump rope, much like...Jason and Brian. Now I spar with coach Randy and can say that Muay Thai has changed my life, it's as much about the mental aspect of the martial art as the physical. If you live in the area, come give Austin Kickboxing Academy a try!

Jason's roundhouse: You need to turn your hips over so that your leg turns 90 degrees. You're doing more of a crescent kick with your toes still pointed up to the air. Your knee and shin should be pointed in the direction you're kicking. You started getting a little better on turning over once you were on the bag but it still needed even more. 28:57 You guys should actually pick one of these and keep up with it for a year and do a video every 3 months to show improvements, that would be awesome!

You know it's a good teacher when even while watching you can understand when one of the guys makes a mistake or corrects it without being told. Jason, as usual, seems more energetic when watching the jump rope part, if he paced himself more he'd probably last longer. Even though Street Fighter is a game, this does make Sagat and Adon's animations make a lot more sense. Okay, now that you got Street Fighter, lets get some Metal Gear tactical action.

I last used a jump rope in school, when I was just under 10 years old, while we were doing a sort of fitness event thing. Brian has a bit of "chicken butt" going on, as my sifu's wife would call it. Having a little structural tension in your lower abs, just below the belly button (as mentioned in the video) allows you to relax your lower back. This aligns the spine more naturally and "engages" your core. You can see the way the instructor stands, his hips are settled into a very stable position. Even though he's not going to drop as low as a Shotokan or Choi Lay Fut practitioner, still going to be hard to get him off his feet.
