That was always my dream amp. Been searching for one for years. Sweet sound.

This one has been modified with full range speakers, so it really is an incredible amp.

Always love the Boston sound, almost bought an XP 212 amp on eBay, I waited too long.. eventually bought. The multiprocessor XPR, wish it was the XPR a, it would be a lot quieter, like my X100 headphone amp. Either way you have a good piece of History, I believe there was only like 25 of those made, don't Tinker around with it

Oh, this amp was saved from the scrap heap. The power amp was completely removed. The preamp was inoperative. The only thing being used was the speakers…with a Marshall head sitting on top. I totally rebuilt the amp, along with upgrading the speakers. It was doomed for the landfill. I heard about it through a friend of mine, and the rest is history.

That was great! I liked hearing it open with the bridge from Cantcha' Say. Do you currently refurb these? Or know of someone (preferably in Florida) who does? I have three XP series units. ANY guidance is appreciated, you can message me through KZfaq. Many thanks! And you play very well.

Get it profiled by somebody with a KEMPER and then sell the profiles.

Congrats. Wonderful amp. Are you using the 24 factory presets of the later units or your own? And are you going direct to soundcard or using a mic? Any processing?
@perfectsound5004 жыл бұрын
castodecastro I’m using my own presets. Recording was done with my cell phone...nothing more. No outboard processing. The speakers are full range Celestion coax 12’s.

@@perfectsound500 Thank you. I was almost sure it wasn't the factory presets (I think this guy uses those kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jJZ3Zsqotd_ThY0.html). Your presets are impressive. Impressive cell phone recording also.

Can you get like ada mp 1 types of gain out of this?
@perfectsound5002 жыл бұрын
That depends on what you mean. I used an ADA MP1 in the 90’s, but it didn’t sound quite like this. The MP1 was a tube preamp. Rockman amps are a different animal. But, they are very high gain.
@Person-cv9dj2 жыл бұрын
@@perfectsound500 i mean could it get like a nuno bettencourt sound?
@perfectsound5002 жыл бұрын
@@Person-cv9dj I would say yes. It would take some EQing, though. Again, some nuances wouldn’t be the same because it’s a solid state amp. High gain tube amps have a character all their own.

What mods were done? Can't imagine...??

curt greco it has Celestion 1225 full range speakers with Eminence crossovers...to start with...
@curtgreco17254 жыл бұрын
@@perfectsound500 l would think the speakers it was designed with, would have been optimal.. Crossover in a guitar amp...? Never heard of it..oh well sounds good though
@perfectsound5004 жыл бұрын
curt greco it was VERY poorly designed. The original speakers had very poor frequency response. Very very poor... Now, it’s unstoppable...
