Excellent news for longevity. A lot of things about DD2 make it much harder to mod so I am glad the devs are making it a priority. I still spend time to this day modding DD1 even though I haven't played in a fair while. No, I don't have a problem, you have a problem.

I was at a game developer conference last year where one of Red Hook's devs did a presentation on the value of community engagement. The very first question he received upon finishing his presentation was about the studio's plans for DD2 modding support.

Modeling, texturing and animating new characters? That takes lots of experience and time, sure. But making model swaps like the ones l4d2 workshop's full of? That's fairly simple and I'm gonna jump to it the day they release model overwrite support.

ah, here's hoping some of either Marvin Seo's modded classes are able to be added. If not, then I look forward to the Blazing Lord, The Saw Hunter, and The Twilight Knight being added at the very least. I've mentioned multiple times before but those the only classes I'd consider a must-have for my DD2 experience. I'd love to someday have my entire modpack's worth of shit from DD1 in DD2 but that's many years down the line I suspect with how long it took for DD1 to reach the point it has with it's mods. edit: if I could animate and code worth a shit, I'd make the mods myself. Sadly, I cannot so I must wait for someone else to do it.

not sure, from what i seen of the foundation of the game i'm not sure when i want to play it i knew why i wanted to play one but two just seems so out there that im not sure what to think. Which means mods would have to catch my eye in a way that i'm not sure is possible?

More characters and more bosses, or no bosses. At least "no bosses" in the sense that it dictates the way you have to set up a run for each chapter. After you beat it so many times, it becomes a bit limiting and interest can be lost when there is only 6 chapters and you are forced into certain ways of play style in order to play the chapter. It doesn't work in the favor of replayability. The altar of hope update was huge, brought alot of fun back into runs. But for the people who didn't accumulat hundreds of thousands or even millions of candles, those things go quick! And 16>24>? candles just to get a couple items is pretty brutal. It doesn't give you that much of an advantage on the run. Especially with mastery being so scarce sometimes. Seeing even just a little bit more mastery points throughout a run would be nice. Trying to go through cowardice with only 2 mastery to start (the only chapter that is pretty universal with potential line ups (since chapter 1 and 2 are so nerfed) is pretty brutal. But really at any point, no matter who you choose, no matter how upgraded you are, if the game wants you to lose, you're going to lose. Which is good, I do think it's important to make sure that the game is brutally difficult while maintaining a balance of fun. Very challenging, for sure, it would just be nice to have more freedom in setting up for a run. Maybe kingdoms will help with replayability idk. I just think that since the game is much shorter than the first, something has got to be figured out for replay value. And a randomized run option is pretty sorely needed, where the end boss doesn't dictate which characters can be chosen for a particular playthrough. It makes for too much favoring of certain characters, or maybe favoring isn't the right word. Maybe more like, relying too heavily on certain characters, causing people to experiment with the other characters enough. I find myself feeling a bit constrained and limited to picking certain characters for certain abilities simply based on mechanics of the end boss. Which is fine and all, that would be good to stay. But having a more randomized run 'gauntlet' or something like that where any combination of characters is at least viable, not always winnable but viable, would give alot of replay value to the game. Just my two cents. I have more cents but I won't make this comment any longer. Fantastic game, love it, love that it is continuing to grow and expand. I just want to see DD grow to infinity. And I want to see RedHook strip whoever makes that board game of their rights to the content and let someone else make a proper version of the tabletop that doesn't rip off and hold their investors hostage!!! What has been done with the DD tabletop game is actually criminal. I want that game! But I refuse to give a single cent to that disgraceful company that should be sued out of existence for their crimes against the good name of Darkest Dungeon!! >:( Red Hook kick them to the curb! They disgrace your good name!!!!!!!
