This is quite a sad song. That sample of the phone operator, "please hold the line", it's like a person trying to reach by phone someone who isn't there anymore. And that person on the phone wishes only the best for the missing one.

Sad yet also optimistic like the greatest musical compositions are. Song would not be the first thing I would call a composition such as this. The noun song implies such playfulness. This track, whatever you call it, may exhibit playfulness on more of a cosmic scale, which would be more likely to be interpreted as playful from the mind's eye of a billions of years old space dwelling life form, perhaps.

I should've started listening mogwai long ago. Then I wouldn't been in the position that I'm in. Not that it's the worst one. I just need to remember songs like these while I'm in hard times. But it's sooooo easy to lose sight. Almost at the bat of an eyelash. I hope for nothing but happiness for whoever listens to this song and has read my words. Peace and love.

a lot like on "music for a forgotten future" eh? that track is a masterpiece,right at the beginning I swear theres this almost silent sound,almost sounds like the sound that a firecracker makes as the little thing is burning its way to the firecracker,that small split second sound,but theres this really odd and almost silent sound RIGHT at the beginning.that sound does that chills thing to me too,im sure you`ll hear it if you look it up... your pretty too btw :-)

2011 :D thats about the time i started listening to mogwai and it felt contemporary! how come the music is even 12 years older? these tracks have lots old memories smell on em. id just like to forget about how i played them for 1000 times walking the street, working at school.. so i just could discover them once again like back theese days in my high school residence. The time stood still and I had so much hope for a good life future! THANK YOU MOGWAI FOR I HAD SUCH A BEATUTIFUL TIME WITH YOUR OLD HAPPY SONGS. THEY'LL BE ALWAYS KEPT IN MY MEMORIES AS MY TEENAGE EPILOGUE :)

I think one of the main things about instrumental music is it's lack of suggestion, rather it creates a framework for your own emotions. If your friends, or anybody else, find this music depressing, then it's because the depression is coming from within themselves. Tell them Johny5 said lighten the *swearword* up and enjoy something amazing.

I found it weird how nobody around me seems to notice how depressing this music is my family thinks it's loud weird or annoying but when I hear it I feel unbelievable depressing feelings and nostalgia it feels like its describing all the rational thoughts in my head all the uncontrollable anxiety moments all the dark scary nights when I was left alone for my thoughts to eat me up when great things happen in my life but my mind would not let me feel happiness funny cause the title says happiness and the music isn't slow or anything maybe the sad feeling is just in my head and not the music IDK man i can't stop listening to it

In spite of how angry I am at you right now, morgan; I'll play this song thinking about you for years to come and how much I'm going to miss our friendship. I knew you were changing as a person but i couldn't figure out why, and you never thought I would change at all. Turns out when you caught on that I was different from before, you came to the conclusion that you aren't fond of who I am now. I wouldn't change to cater to your expectations then, and I never will. I know who I am and I love me, I hope you can say the same thing about yourself.

This song is lovely to drum along too. Simple, but great nonetheless. In fact a lot of their tracks are great to drum along to. This and ‘helps both ways’ are especially simple in a good way. Great practice for your kick drum and overall timing.
