There were definitely bits of good direction from Deborah Chow throughout the series, when Anakin absolved Obi Wan of his guilt by admitting that he was the one responsible for his own fall almost brought me to tears. Plus having his face illuminated by the blue light of Obi's saber when he did this to further show that there is still light somewhere in Anakin was just the perfect touch. Shame that the series was mixed in with some of the worst story filler content as well.

The EU was also made for the fans by the fans with so much love and respect for the original source that they tried to limit the inconsistencies as much as they could.

But the lore in the prequels is some of the best. Meanwhile everything Disney is clearly designed to nostalgia bait. You also miss the point of the main comment. Disney is a Corp that makes movies based of checklists. Genuinely the most boring show I've ever seen. 3 pirates chase a toddler through the woods for 10 minutes and hit their heads on branches for no reason. Vader is stopped by steam and hot coals but can pull down a space ship. Nothing ever happens. The emperor's "I made snoke" monologue and midichlorians show how stupid it is to base a goofy fantasy series around scifi lore. Star Wars is much closer to Dragon Ball than it is to Star Trek. Do these extended universe fans even like a new hope? Those two things have nothing in common and the lore is boring. Star Wars is a fast paced adventure that's been turned into the most dull dnd campaign
