Omg this reminds me of my grandma forcing me to use a bunch of essential oils to "fix my adhd" when I was a kid and kids would literally bully me because I smelled like a bunch of really strong oils. Literally smelled like pepper spray.

You can't say "We are reaching a point, people will believe anything". When people, since the dawn of time, have believed in nonsense like gods, demons, ghosts, monsters, etc. People haven't just started believing in nonsense, its almost a staple for our species at this point.

At the very least, our ancestors believed those things because they wanted the unknown to be a bit more known, and personified them to make it easier to tell others. Nowadays the answer is just a 'google search and 5 minutes of reading' away, but some people dont have the time for some reason

There is a reason people used to believe in all kinds of shit. Ever saw a volcano errupt? And the hot lava cooling off in the water, looking like huge, deep black tentacles? Ever had night paralysis? Waking up in a dark room, not beeing able to move a muscle while your brain imagines shades in total darkness? If you don't know shit, obviously you are going to believe in god's demons and such. It's a pretty stupid claim and a huge excuse for all those 5 braincells mouthbreathers nowadays. People didn't have a clue about anything, nowadays common sense is stronger than knowledge was back then. They just refuse to use their brains, as well as a 5 seconds Internet search to clearify something is indeed not the deed of Satan himself.

@@eternal8571 I think the feeling of "wanting the unknown to be known" still lives to this day. The only difference now is that when people don't know something they fill the gaps with their own understanding/viewpoints so they look smart. Everyone can search something up to learn, but you feel smarter when you can just rattle off some facts that you "heard/read" (even when you're outright wrong)

When I was 4, my mom figured out I had a lazy eye (because it tracked with my other eye, no one could tell that my left eye didn’t work). The optometrist gave me a prescription for my eye, my vision was 20/400. I was supposed to wear my glasses until I was at least 12, but I went down *this* route where I stopped wearing them around 10. I am now permanently legally blind in my left eye. Your spiritual pressure doesn’t help very much with eyesight 😅
