3 years ago I worked in an elementary school and I remember a lot of students, mostly girls, had these massive hydroflasks. I always wondered what a third grader needed half a gallon of water for until I realized the bottles were a status symbol. Kids that had off brand bottles were made fun of.

The big thing when I was a kid was a Trapper Keeper. And yeah, you got made fun of if you had a off brand version. Much like when I see "Beats", having the "true" brand in their possession just proves to me that they're willing to pay more for something than they have to.

It’s reselling. It’s a side hustle for these people, they resell the cups online if they are limited edition or if they are creative they customize them with names or sayings or glitter then resell them for triple what they bought it for. Same thing as Starbucks cups, some are seasonal, some only get shipped to certain stores etc.

They are a tool company. I used to love their tape measures. Reminds me of when all the "trendy people" were wearing Carhart stuff... instead, now its a bunch of housewives and TikTokers with Stanley cups. Makes me feel ahead of the times for all those years working carpentry, construction and factory jobs before I got a tech job. I wore Carharts and drank out of Stanley cups everyday... heck, I even had a Stanley thermos and lunchbox. LMAO

It's not that it survived a fire, a steel cup surviving fire isn't a big deal. The big deal was that the drink was still cold and had ice after the fire. I was given one for Xmas a few years ago and it's great, I've put ice and water in it and accidentally left it behind when I went on a trip. Came back 3 days later and it was still cold and had ice. That being said, it seems crazy to wait in line for one but to each their own.

@MannyBrum
@MannyBrum 6 ай бұрын
@@pop7292 Even if it's real it's not a big thing. The video of the burned car showed where the cup was and the plastic all around the cup was fine. The temperature around the cup was probably didn't get too hot. The majority of the damage was ash and smoke. When people think car fire they think the whole car went up in flames. It looks like (from the brief video) that the engine compartment probably got engulfed (it's a Kia, they had a recall because the ABS could cause a short that creates an engine compartment fire even while parked), the windshield shattered, and parts of the trim around the windshield and the steering wheel melted but that's about as far as it went. The temp around the cup was definitely below 200F, could have been closer to 100. It also depends on the climate where the car was. It's winter, it could be cold. The TikToker said the fire happened the previous day, the ice sounded like small chips. If it was a cold night, it's totally possible the ice didn't melt all the way. There's also videos of other brands "surviving fires" as well with ice in them. The cup was never directly in the fire. It was in the car, the car was on fire.

I’ll tell you exactly why these are blowing up from personal experience: they have a higher capacity than the biggest yeti cup, and the handle is nice and meaty for any hand size to grab, plus they still fit in cupholders. I’ve been slowly collecting yeti cups over the years and got my mom on the band wagon, but as soon as Stanley came out with a bigger size of the same type of cup with a handle to help my mom hold it better, she instantly made the switch. Dual wall insulated cups of any kind are awesome, and beat out just about any other cup to hold any kind of drink. But I wouldn’t do something this stupid for them, they’ll make enough for everyone eventually. I still like Yeti cups and bottles better but they’re perfect for people like my mom

In high school, I snagged a hydroflask since they were “the next big thing.” I dropped it a million times but I still use it to date. Then I heard about Stanley’s from TikTok. My mom bought me one for Christmas. It’s pretty cool, and it keeps your ice solid for days. But of course, people are now obsessed with them, and for what? Girls my age are obsessed with tumblers. It’s literally all for status. There are off brand bottles that are just as good. Of course I’m not one to talk, I bought one and I do like it. And yeah the car video convinced me. I at least sorta understood the yeti hype because all their stuff is solid at keeping things warm/cold and their stuff is dishwasher safe which I appreciate the option and throw it in occasionally in case I miss a spot when handwashing. But all these other ones like hydroflask and stanley you can't even put in a dishwasher (They like sell special cleaning stuff for them even!) and probably do as well as any other metal water bottle. I think hydroflask had better color options than stanley at least. Also I don't understand collecting water bottles if you're not using them. I have a couple metal water cups/bottles that I use regularly (mostly one to leave at the office, one for home and one with a better lid for taking places) and I kinda feel silly for that even though they each have their designated purpose and allows me to use one while another is in the dishwasher.

It was 50 dollars. I wouldn't pay 25 for it. In fact since its pink and not black or red id pay even less for it.

You know what else survived the fire? Pretty much everything around the cup. Including the car seats that are fabric and foam. Its almost like the fire wasnt in the cabin

i feel like the people at these Targets are scalpers, they arent the real "stanley community". especially that guy that broke behind the counter and stole a whole box. that isnt a passionate fan thats a criminal trying to get a quick buck

I don't get how they can call their cup a Stanley cup? Pretty sure the NHL has that trademarked and it can cause confusion.
