Mole Control - What Worked?

The answer is Poison Moleworms! Strategically and repeatedly placed into the main mole tunnels and wherever new mole digging activity appears, poison worms did the trick for us!
After trying several “friendly” methods for chasing moles away from our yard (see my previous video “How to Chase Away Moles from Your Yard - What Doesn't Work!”), the only remaining option was to kill the buggers. The two lethal methods available at our local Co-op Farm and Garden store were the Victor Out O’ Sight Mole Trap, and the Victor Poison Mole Worms. Poison worms buried deep into mole tunnels seemed the safest method since our pet cat and dog roam our yard and gardens daily. Based on personal experience and many wasted hours spreading mole repellent and repairing mole damage, I highly recommend that you skip the non-lethal methods for mole control.

The worms work!!! I use 1/2 of one. I find a new raised trail. I take a Philips screwdriver, about the size of a pencil, and carefully push and twist it down until you find that you have 'popped' into the trail. Take the 1/2 worm and carefully work it into the 'new raised' trail with a small probe. Then carefully place some damp soil over the small hole and tap it, so as not to allow light or disrupt the trail in any way.

It appears to me that you have gophers in your lawn and garden. I may be wrong but nearly all my mole activity is raised meandering trails in my lawns, beds and hay field. I suppose the mole bait may kill gophers, but I don't think so. The mounds are a common indication of gopher activity. Simply place a Gopher Hawk in the trail, that is usually about 6" away from the 'plug' of dirt (look for it!) that the gopher uses to deposit their unneeded soil. They then push enough dirt out of their trail to plug the hole. If there is the possibility that you've mistaken these mounds for moles but are actually gophers, I suggest you use a Gopher Hawk. These are incredible tools that work perfectly IF you know how to use them! They can also, but not as successfully, used for moles. The kit contains a trap, and a wallowing TOOL that has a probe inside of it, that is used to find the trail, then the wallowing tool is used to wallow into the ground, ending up in the gopher's trail (it's the size of the GH). Once you're in the trail, you back the wallowing tool out (with a slow twist, then set the trap, making sure it stands up straight. The trap is now set! If you have an indication the the trap has sprung (the spring elongates), then use a round shovel to dig around the GH, then CAREFULLY start prying up on the shovel a little, then go 1/4 the way around it, then 1/4th of the way around it , then 1/4 of the way around the GH. Now pry the GH out. The idea is to NOT damage the 'cage'! The cage costs about 1/2 as much as the entire tool! GOOD LUCK Gopher Hunters!!

A support group for ummm...The Mole People...?? Ok, I will name it that😁 Mercy!! So...it's nice to know that so many others try to repell vs the other 😭. I can't bring myself to premeditate that action! I'm going on 2 yrs now. I've tried almost everything known to repell! For crying out loud, I even had a pool constructed! Prior to that...a tree had to be removed. Medium size. I even felt bad about that! But my goal in theory was...to cause extreme acute environmental stress and they move to greener pastures. The noise was immense, traumatized one of my dogs. The pool was immense too, and 6 weeks vs 1 day with tree removal. After completion, and noise calmed...the moles seemed to come back with a vengeance, and...in the exact same spot i had originally noticed their first tunnel. Something about that area...? Idk but there is barely any grass in that spot after pool finished and it's mainly shells above tunnel. Every day I pluck more grass out in hopes they want food elsewhere. I still have those loud solar sticks too. I've tried immense grudge mowing 🤬 to the bald look. These critters are unstoppable! Of course that spot is not the only one. They are everywhere! That feeling when ur foot steps on soft...🤮! I'm going to keep trying repellents. I planted a bird of paradise tree in backyard bout month ago, and by the next day...it was surrounded with tunnels galore! I'm about to use molemax granular, kinda like what he says don't use...but I've had this bag for a year unopened, so wtheck. I'm going to give it a shot. Between them and the snakes...and rabbits who startle but are cute...I feel like Dr Doolittle but watching vids like this, it makes me feel...not so alone! 😁 The grub pic, long story short...pure happenstance when I did an acc edit for the first time but seems appropriate for videos like this but it's probably the grubs, that make yard so desirable. I havnt seen any lately and they probably coming out soon. They are the strangest looking something or other! 🤮x2! The basic instinct to survive is...epic! They are important to our ecosystem and I just can't bring myself to the solution that would probably work. Sigh 😕...

I've had good results using a sledge hammer and traps that kill. I bought them on-line. They are pushed by foot into the ground and have pinchers on both sides that kill the mole. Don't buy cheep kill traps made of plastic, these are made of high-quality metal and cost about 15$ a piece, they are sold as a pair (2). A sledge hammer works great but you have to see them moving and sneak-up quietly on them, the concussion kills them, you do not have to hit them directly. Peace to all.

But on the rare ocassion that I see a fresh pile of dirt near the border of our property, I poke around the mound to locate the hole, drop in half a poison worm, cover it back up with dirt, then drop a couple more half worms in the run several feet apart.
