John paid a serious price for listening to his manipulate mother into dumping his pregnant girlfriend Jane. I don't blame Olivia for not be able to forgive her father for leaving her mother and haven't been part of her life while growing up. If John could go back in time he could have stand up to his selfish/ controlling mother and then he could have married the woman he loved and still be a father to Olivia. But sadly there's no time travel invention that exist and like other people who made past mistakes could only have to accept and learn from them. I wonder that has happened to John's evil and greedy mother and wife since he left them and lost everything in their house, like are they homeless like John? Then if it's true then John's mother got for what she deserved for what she had done, I'm also amazed she hasn't tried to go after his son but judging from her face in the scene she doesn't show any remorse or pity for her son at all.

The first thing that you should know is that if you are dating a mama's boy just stop it right there and run for the hills cause it would take a miracle from God to let you guys have a healthy and strong relationship with the mother around.

The pregnant woman's boyfriend should never listen to his own mother to dump his pregnant girlfriend just because she's black. Honestly, I have little sympathy for John. He chose his gold digging mom over someone who loved him. Then, his mom chose a younger, richer version of her for him to marry. When he had the chance, he stuck it out until they were broke. Only to realize that he would be worked to death for the sake of his greedy wife and mother. If it wasn't for the fact that his daughter saved him, he would've been in an early grave. It's sad that he has to suffer alone. But, it's the pittance he can do for not defending Jane and his child.

His mother should have married Megan. He should have stayed with Jane. You can't keep someone else warm by setting yourself on fire.

I find it curious that John's mother and Megan stuck with each other and continually sold their property instead of trying to make up with John, who was considered the family's sole breadwinner. I guess these two women were friends by that point and their pride refused to let them admit and learn from their mistakes. Overprotective and strict parents shouldn't push their kids to find a partner that they barely know or don't have feelings just to make themselves happy.
