Grenadian Royal Anthem - God Save the Queen

2 жыл бұрынGod Save the Queen is the royal anthem of the island state of Grenada, a Commonwealth Realm in the Caribbean. The final verse is an unofficial Grenada-specific verse, written by myself, in honour of the planned royal visit to Grenada by Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex, in 2022.

Hello again all, I apologise for my long absence, but my life is very hectic at the moment, so I have little time to dedicate to video making. On another note, I am heartbroken by the news of the cancellation of the Earl and Countess of Wessex’s visit to Grenada, scheduled to take place today. I am myself a Grenadian, on my father’s side, and have a deep love for this beautiful island country. It is sad to see the visit cancelled for unknown reasons, I hope a new visit may happen soon. I wrote and recorded this special version of God Save the Queen in honour of the visit, in the belief that a beautiful country like Grenada should, like Canada, have its own specially dedicated verse.

@@dominionofquebec10452 Yes, I am. My mother is Norwegian, and I was born and live here, but my father is Grenadian, and through him I am also a Grenadian citizen, with the entire paternal side of my family residing in Grenada

Don't worry about the long breaks, I myself am having quite a lot of studies to catch up on so I understand :) Also, I recently found a version of God Save the King at the end of Elgar's Crown of India Suite (Ave Imperator) which I suppose could be considered Britain's Imperial Anthem... may I suggest it?

Aye, the days of the People’s Revolutionary Government were quite mad. My uncle, who served as minister of tourism in the PRG, has told me about the strange juxtaposition; the singing of The Internationale, as portraits of the Queen hung prominently in Government House

May I make suggestions to this great channel? Perhaps well known, but I suggest Music for the Royal Fireworks, by Haendel. Created for a British monarch on a special occassion. I'm sure a few classical pieces like these were made for monarchs.

I live in one republic and it seems like this. Constitutional monarchy is much better. Government is voted but head of state is representative.

They tried back in the Cromwell days. Didn't turn out very well. I'm from the Netherlands and a monarchy is actually pretty nice. Both monarchy and republic have it's advantages and disadvantages.
