Monet French Easel - Easy To Set Up And Very Sturdy To Work In Any Outdoor Environment
The Monet French Easel is a faithful replica of French style easels such as the ones produced by Jullian and Mabef. It will take canvases up to 32" in height, and includes a pull out divided sketch drawer for supplies, wooden palette and linen shoulder straps making it perfect for painting in the field or in studio. This beautiful and practical easel folds to a compact 20 × 13.5 × 5.4" for easy storage and weighs only 14 lbs when empty. This makes it one of the lightest French easels on the market today.

Amy, PLEASE be the first among all the other French Easel videos to SHOW how those blasted front legs work. This comes with Zero instructions, and I've seen lots of complaints from people concerned about breaking something while trying to set up the front legs. For those who have never used a French easel before, we have no way of knowing the two front legs have a little metal spike on them which is inserted into a slot on the box. The legs have to be unscrewed at the other end to give it some leeway when pulling the spike out. Haven't seen a video yet where someone shows the entire procedure for setting one up. Advice also varies on whether to start with the back leg or the two front legs. How about an A to Z video to reduce some frustration for buyers?

Work it out it's not rocket science. Beats me how you know which end of the brush to hold.

Great demo, I appreciate the information. I just unpacked mine tonight. It seems to work very well. I was bothered when I thought that I could not lower the panel/canvas clamps to lest than 18 inches. Well, thanks to your demo, I now know how to raise the lower support bar. Thanks. The unit I purchased was the unit with wheels. They may or may-not be handy, but it does roll.

Well. I've just finished watching this not only informative but convincing video that I'm popping right back over to my order where I've got 1 in my cart but wanted to check out video 1st. I would also like to say that this is the 2nd time I've been doing business w you guys & just rcvd an order of about 8 or so Ruby Satin Silvers (as well as a Princeton VT) & 2 of my Rubies had frizzing issues that I just emailed company this am re: issue & LO & BEHOLD...while I was on YT watching video I let my voicemail pick up phone & IT WAS JERRYS!!! ALREADY RESPONDING TO EMAIL I SENT ABOUT AN HR AGO & THEY ARE SENDING ME 2 NEW SCRIPT & MONOGRAM BRUSHES! That type of customer service made my decision EZ to purchase this easel...that I don't really need...I just covet...so...thanks for info on product...& this is a GREAT COMPANY

I am trying to figure out the legs. The back leg won't straighten all the way, and the two front legs are wobbly and no matter what knob I turn, they won't stay. What am I doing wrong?

Dear Mickey, First of all we want to apologize for getting back you so late. I'll bet you've figured it out by now, but if not, let me say that French easel hardware is, unfortunately, notorious for wearing out after extended use. Your legs are most likely slipping and wobbly because the threads on your wing nuts are no longer holding tight. You can easily replace the nuts and bolts for the french easel legs cheaply at your local hardware store. The addition of a rubber washer might also help ensure that your hardware holds the leg position once tightened.

Like someone else said. I can’t get the back leg to set straight. Always has a bend and I’ve had it for years and have tried and tried to set it straight.

Your legs are most likely slipping and wobbly because the threads on your wing nuts are no longer holding tight. The addition of a rubber washer might also help ensure that your hardware holds the leg position once tightened. I am having a hard time visualizing the issue with the back leg of the easel.
