I imagine it is setup just like a French easel. Open up the legs and tighten ALL the knobs. Stand it up on the legs, then open the top.

For me there are fewer wingnuts to tighten so better on my hands and importantly fewer places to come loose. But you do you!

I really dislike wing nuts too. Except for my antique easels, I replaced almost all of the wing nuts with thumb screw knobs. Antique wing nuts are more substantial and easier on the fingers. I know they can get expensive, but I find thumb nuts are easier on the fingers and hands. Moreover, I can turn them faster than wing nuts.@@elizabethkellerman969

Brackets are for a drawing tablet which can also be used for additional shelf space. I was thinking of getting a French box easel but saw your video and got this model instead - thanks. Your "loose painting" video is fabulous - complimenti.

So if you watch the video you will see it was sent from Ukraine. As you know there is a war there where Russia has attacked Ukraine. Out of respect for those people in this situation it was important to note the differene.

Looks good but please, it is Ukraine not ‘The Ukraine’
