So grateful your mom is healing. I have watched several of your videos from the chemo chair, so I know how thankful it feels to get through treatment and begin healing. I completed the sunflower painting...then overworked it, trying to be too detailed, augh. But I am going to try it again this weekend. For the last year I have been learning photo-realism (mostly animals with pastel pencils) so I am trying to learn how to create soft pastel landscapes. Quite a change, but I am learning to much from you. Take good care of yourself as you are caring for your precious MIL. 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Oh sugar.... bless you and I pray for your healing. I too know about art as therapy during chemo. Just try to enjoy the process. The end result isn't as important as the moment of creation. Keep it up sweetheart and God bless and heal you.

Hi Mrs Jenkins, Beautiful lesson ma'am, I'm very happy to attend and learn more. Also I'd like to ask when initially u took beige or off white pastel paper, how did u choose between the color of sheets??, I usually draw only on white pastel papers by sennelier. Do u deliberately order assorted shades so u get all different neutral colored sheets??. Also like your earlier videos, could I've used alcohol for dark underpainting initially??. My prayers and wishes for your mum in law ❤️. Love from India ❤️ Arun

Hi Arun, Those are good questions. I like working on various toned surfaces, but I also like working on white so I can tone it myself. I rarely start a painting on a sold white surface and usually give it a colored tone which I think will complement the final painting. Neutral colors seem to work well for various types of subject matter. I try to let people know that there is no magic to having the perfect surface color, but just play around with little studies of the same subject on different surface colors to see what you like best. And yes, you can use alcohol for dark underpainting as long as you are working on a water friendly surface. Tell Anish hello from me and thanks for your prayers. @@monetcafe I think I understand what you are trying to tell me, but it's not completely understood by me. But worry not anish will help me out with the language. I'll try it using alcohol underpainting. Also It is our pleasure and honor to help you with all we have across the globe, especially Anish is just praying twice a day for your mum in law, my mom says lord listens to all those who pray to him for love and devotion without seeing the religion. I'm sorry you feel that way. I'm trying to keep sharing content in the midst of caring for my mother-in-law who has terminal cancer. It's a lot to juggle. I hope my subscribers can hang in there during this heart-breaking trial.
