The bank has a master key to open each one of those safety deposit boxes and I'm sure the manager probably emptied everyone of them that the owners never claimed after receiving notice the bank was moving or closing. $5 worth of nickels and $80 cash I couldn't even begin to understand why someone would pay rent on a safety box that cost alot more per year then even the $80 that was in the one. Makes for an interesting video though real or not

They have one here in new Orleans, it was abandoned after hurricane Katrina I went in it the other day. Along with 2 hospitals and an old factory they call the stacks because of the 2 huge brick chimney stacks.

The property owner is the only one who can give them permission. The only other reason i can think of is he owns a salvage company that comes in after and recycles all the metal. The bank would turn over keys though if you buy the boxes off them. You as the owner would be responsible for removing them though. The bank then turns over keys to you(the new owner) so these guys could have bought them, stuffed them with stuff, then made this video.
