Every bill I mail I write thank you in the back of the envelope with a smiley face. I thank God for giving me the money to pay my bills I thank the postman for delivery the bills, and the companies who provide the services and who employed the people who can also pay their bills. God is awesome 👏🏼

I am hurtling toward 61 years of age. I didn't think that I could learn anything new from Frugal you tube posts. WRONG! The 'treating money like it's an old used tissue, shoving it in...' hit home hard after a long day travelling.I absolutely did just that today. I'm very picky about who I subscribe to but you just got my vote. Thanks.

I will be calling the mortgage payment "the dog's house" payment. Makes me so much happier paying for a roof over my dogs head than paying just to see the total come down. Will also be calling savings as "my daughter's future fund". For once I'm excited to see bill pay day come around. 😁 Your such a smart, entertaining young lady.

I will start saying to myself, there's more coming, instead of I'm broke.

Ok I know this seems a bit off topic, but felt the need to share this story. Many years ago I was in the midst of clinical depression. Not just sad or blue, but in a doctor's care, trying to learn how to function again. I got a part time job during the holidays at a Kmart store. The holidays were brutal, and there wasn't much Holiday Spirit expressed by alone. That winter was freezing cold and I was working the evening shift and we were SLAMMED (could have been Black Friday). Crowds of people everywhere screaming, swearing, etc. I look up and suddenly I have a little old lady standing in front of me, with a single serve carton of milk and a snack food. By her appearance she was most likely homeless, dirty from head to toe, dirt on her face, hair not brushed, etc. But her EYES....they were the most beautiful electric blue eyes I've ever seen, and they were mesmerizing. It's like I just wanted to fall INTO her eyes... She had tattered, fingerless gloves on. I had to SNAP myself out of staring into her eyes, and rang up her items (less than $3). With both hands she reached into her pockets and pulled out two fist fulls of MONEY...hundreds and hundreds of dollars, each bill wadded up into a ball. She just stood there presenting it all to me. I had coworkers and my boss around me but no one was acting like they saw her. She never spoke, just stood there smiling, holding all this money up for me. I finally said something like "Here, let me help you with that" and took every wadded Bill, smoothed them all out, straightened and put them in order. She easily had at least $1k. I counted out the $3 I needed, returned her change and her folded bills and told her to be careful and safe with the money. She just smiled. I don't remember her walking away from the register. I later asked our instore security guy about her and he acted like he didn't know what I was talking about. I really believe I may have encountered an angel that day. The best way to describe her eyes is that they were just full of pure Love. Was it a test for me? To see if I would treat her with dignity? If I would be honest and not try to steal from her? Not sure. But your advice to not wad up your money brought this memory, and it's as wonderful now as I was then.

Hi Kate, I'm just watching this video again and I realized that since I started following your channel I have made quite a few frugal achievements. I have paid off two bills, only one left now, and I can now consciously choose not to buy unnecessary items. I decided that 2020 I will do more shopping from my freezer and pantry, and I have successfully done it so far. Thanks for the very helpful videos. My savings account is slowly growing as I make better choices. Thanks again 😊😊

Totally Agree Kate!!!! I've been using these tricks for a while and I'm telling you it Works!!!!! We all have to be grateful when paying our bills and think " I'm so happy I can pay my bills." Instead of looking at it in a negative light. An organized wallet =organised money, creates Wealth 😜 Thanks for your time and efforts to help people with their finance's. Keep it up doll ❤️

Respecting all your things, especially money, is something my mom preached often. Maybe out of superstition but it really helps one to take care of them more. This is so fun. Haha pay your future self! It’s all a matter of perspective for sure. Saving money can be a grind and when you change your attitude toward the everyday it makes the process much easier and pleasant! I love this! It really is all in how you look at it! I went right to my budget and renamed items. Gas is now freedom fuel, cell phone now my life line, mortgage is now our home, the water bill I renamed to I love having water to drink, cook with, bathe in & float in. Power is now I am so grateful to have power, lights, washer/dryer, dishwasher & most of all in FL...AC! My IRA is now my future freedom fund and the money I’m putting aside to buy my next car is now my future car payment & interest free! ❤️

The third one makes sense to me - if you respect money - you will take care of money and spend it wisely. Hence in that very fact alone ... you will have more. Budgeting takes time ... looking at your banks stuff everyday and reconciling your budget takes time ... you will only take the time when you respect money.

I juat revisited my budget for the rest of the year. UGH. I need a mantra! I am saying, "keeping the flow going" when I have to pay for something because it really is a flow of money in and out of your life.

I have always put my money in order since I worked at a job where you were expected to do that. Drives me crazy when people hand me currency all which ways! Havs to be all with faces up. OCD? Perhaps.

All three ideas were great... I really think renaming the line items in my budget is the first idea I'll try. Instead of Groceries...."Mmmm food" or intead of Mortgage maybe "Home Sweet Home". Not sure yet, but coming up with ideas is fun. 🌷

This video came at the perfect time, I was trying to create a new budget for my husband and I, because he is hoping to retire next year. I want to try to put as much as possible into savings and cut costs where I can, but without a specific goal name it is hard to put money away. A second comment on my part. This week was a short week financially but instead of telling my family the details, I told them I have decided that every second week we will call " frugal week" . I swear... They jumped to the challenge in the supermarket. Came home with so many cheap groceries and so many ideas how to put things to use Your the wouldn't believe! Amazing how the way you word things can change your outlook. 😍

Never had a budget written down. However, it was always in my head. When 401ks were first implemented I started one and every year I got a raise I would just add it to my 401k contribution. After 21 years of working for the same employer I retired and am now living in a small mobile home in Florida. Every day I feel so blessed that I am able to live this lifestyle. The budget is still in my head but will add your last tip when I write my next check "there is more where that comes from!" Love it!

I do the respecting money in my wallet thing. I like the “there’s more where that came from”. All the tips are good but am going to adopt that one! Keep up the good work

Hi, I just ran onto your wonderful channel, and subscribed. I know all good things things come from GOD, I like to write scripture verse” addresses” on my checks, example Matthew 6:33. The recipient will either know that scripture, or if not, they will ask. Either way it’s a great witness tool. It goes along with your” there’s more “ motto. Be Blessed 🙏.

I will do the first 2 & already practice the 3rd one. Mainly because it makes me nuts to have my wallet in any kind of disarray. I have a change drawer in my car that I put there (kinda on display). When it’s filled, it goes to blessing others. Not that that’s my only blessing of others - it’s definitely not. But it does remind me to bless others here & there - like paying for someone’s order behind me or the next few cars in a drive through. Etc.

There's more where that came from! LOVE IT!!! I'm going to give it a try. I'm all over "respecting" my money. I even have this thing about getting really worn bills. I spend them first, but want to keep the nice crisp bills. Yeah its a little OCD or something. I really like the comments about writting Thank You on bill envelops or on the memo line. I believe in being grateful. Plus its important that we all feel appreciated. Think its a nice bonus to anyone who see it. Going to try it as well!

Great ideas - for the fun name category, I usually give my car a fun name, so gas would be Ruby's juice to me! I definitely need to look at the respecting the money thing... I have it all crammed with my cards in a small change purse for portability, need to address that one!

Great info about the mindset, it can truly change how you think about paying that bill ( like my sanctuary, instead of my mortgage) l. Place of abundance is a great mindset. I think it tells the universe that you expect more and will get it. Respect... there can be soooo much said for respect in every category in life... and respecting money, will bring you more. You are awesome! I'm fairly new, so I have some wonderful videos to catch up on. This video was the greatest! I already organize my paper money, all facing the same way, biggest to smallest. It bothers me if it isn't done this way. I'm naturally organized. I do love the first tip. My home accounting book is organized and color-coded, but I might take it a step further and re- name my bills. Sounds fun! I love turning my mundane chores into games.
