If it was intentional why would the crew of the ship notify the authorities to get traffic off the bridge? Anyone who's watched the video can clearly see the ship was having issues up to four minutes before it hit the bridge. Some of you who have to make a conspiracy out of everything need to realize we once had this popular saying called "sh1t happens", and the thing is, it does happen, quite often. Ships also hit bridges in China and Argentina in the last month. Last year when the conspiracy celebre was train derailments and you were all asking "why are all these trains suddenly derailing?", you were ignoring the long known, easily researched fact that we have on average, 3-4 train derailments in this country EVERY DAY. Now, do you perhaps see why we reasoned folk are getting tired of your shit? Which like all the other shit, happens way too often.
@tonymorris1911Ай бұрын
What was on the 2 minutes of missing data?
@tonyf.9806Ай бұрын
@@scarpfish You're right, shit does happen, but your argument against this being intentional is flawed. Could it be an accident, based on the reports we've gotten so far, sure. But I work in the maritime industry, and quite a few things don't line up. Now if this was intentional, it can go one of two ways. You can make it known this was an actual attack, but the timing and warning leading up to it would be stupid. Or, it could be intentional but you want to make it look like an accident to avoid suspicion. Now the report of contaminated fuel leading to engine loss, while on it's face sounds plausible, but then factor how much fuel a cargo ship carries, and how much contamination would be required for the engines, all of them, and their back-ups, to completely malfunction and ceases operation. There's other aspects of it's speed, the current at the time, time/distance to go from whatever speed it was at to a full stop, etc that are still unknowns, but we should have had answers within 1 day as it's all basic math (and all those values should be known at the time of operation, just like pilots before take-off of a plane). If this was truly an accident, we'd have 90% of the facts pretty quickly, with the analysis of that information taking longer to figure out exactly what happened. This is what leads to conspiracy theories, the lack of basic information that should be known but is withheld, politicians (on both sides) making their own assessments without having even remotely enough information to do so (even if only preliminary), other politicians deflecting from talking about it and trying to shift focus elsewhere, and anyone who asks legitimate questions is ridiculed (as is the case in this video). If a Dem had asked the same question, is this an accident or intentional, Bill would have praised them. Bill could have done a segment and asked the same questions, then go through everything we know, or think we know, and come up with an initial assessment of accident vs intentional. And as far is it being intentional, this would be a relatively genius way to do it, given the time of day (or night in this case), minimal loss of life, calls made out ahead of time, and the undeniable fact we're broke, the bridge would be insanely expensive to build, Biden said he wants taxpayers to fund the replacement rather than the ship's owner and insurance company who should be on the hook for all damages to property and loss of life, and even if there is money to replace it, it would take years given how crappy our industrial sector is and unions who will 100% milk this as they always do when you have to use union laborers. At this time, all we can do is wait for the NTSB report (which still tends to be one of the most unbiased organizations we have sadly), and see what comes of it, then wait for the inevitable politicizations and manipulation of that report to meet political ends.

If people had to assume there was a conspiracy involved here, they probably assumed the same thing about the Ohio train crash and the Boeing planes losing doors and landing gear. Thing is though, their little conspiracies ALWAYS blame the WRONG person. Occam's Razor. The simplest explanation is the best one. And in America these days, that explanation is greed, pure and simple. Companies cut costs and safety provisions in order to maximize profits, which results in accidents like these. Sounds boring though, right? Yeah, well, that's life. Sorry that it's not as dramatic or crazy as some psy-op or government plot. Life is not a movie. You want so badly to be "in the know" about something that NO ONE else knows, but the truth is, you just come off "knowing" even LESS than the average person.

Apparently there were many safety concerns for the integrity of the bridge itself but no plans or contingencies for ships hitting it. We do seem to be a society of half measures. Why spend the money to really fix something when a little duct tape patchwork will do. After all, what are the odds a big container ship will hit a bridge and do catastrophic damage? Or what are the odds that a thorough check of a Boeing will reveal something that will cause wheels to fall off , or engines to catch fire or doors to fly open? Did I forget to mention we are also a nation of gambling addicts?
@MelesniannonАй бұрын
Those odds are actually really really slim, we just panic when they happen because their impact is so high. This is news, because ships don't ram bridges regularly. The Boeing situation is news, because doors don't fall off airplanes regularly. Claiming that societies take "half measures" ignores all the ships that safely passed bridges and all the planes that landed intact. That isn't a suggestion to do nothing with these situations, mind you, simply an argument not to overreact to rare occurrences. There's actually very little you can do when a ship hits a bridge, our efforts are best geared at making sure bridges don't hit ships. Or the other way around.
