The Tokyo Monorail is the fastest way to get into central Tokyo. It takes just 13 minutes to get to Hamamatsu Station, where you can simply transfer to another train to your final destination.

Definitely kind of spooky seeing everything so empty for the Tokyo area, but it did make everything really stand out. And it made me glad things were being taken seriously.

When I was in Tokyo I was shocked by taxi fares, so always used public transport, which it like tens of times cheaper and still gets you all around the city. I arrived to Natita so took a train to the city but departed from Haneda and used monorail. Was cool to watch it again.

It’s so interesting seeing people’s reactions to my daily commute. My sister came to visit me a few months ago. I told her to make sure to fly into Haneda. My place is literally 15 or so minutes away by monorail. Easiest airport commute ever. She flies into Narita because she wanted to ride the ANA A380 with the sea turtle livery.

I remember arriving in Tokyo and wanting to take the monorail. Just as I was getting to the Ticketmachines, they closed for the night and I had to take a taxi into the City. Damn that was expensive. Took it back to the airport, when it was time to leave though. That was a great ride.

Thank you for this video, Mr Shinichi! Very informative and helpful. I never knew you could take a monorail from Haneda to the city. When I went to Tokyo in 2019, I took the regular subway to get to my lodging because it was the first thing I saw off the arrival gates. The monorail seems really pleasant with all those wonderful views. Will definitely take it next time I go, hopefully this year!!

2:05 Oh, thats actually a pretty cute and small ticket. I actually like that. The most tickets for public transportation are twice as large and have SO much unused space on them. This is way better because it has all the details/info you need and is as small as it can me what saves paper. And i really wish that there whould be more Monorail systems around the world. Especially Europe could use some of those.

I agree with your wishes for things to return to normal. Unfortunately, far too many people are not following science. Far too many people unvaccinated. Far too many unwilling to get vaccinated. Not in Japan, but in the west too many people refuse to wear a mask. I do enjoy your videos immensely. Thank you and stay well 🙏 😊

Unfortunately you have the rich, famous and influencers gathered together without masks in very large crowds. Eating, laughing and partying while pointing at everybody else to mask up. Even the Vaccinated can still get covid and spread it. Unless your wealthy. See the problem?

The green seats are called priority seats. These seats should be given priority to those who need a seat, such as the elderly, the disabled, pregnant women, and those with infants. Priority seats are found in almost all commuter trains in Japan, and they are distinguished by stickers (6:18 ~ on the wall) or use of different colors.
