i really wish we got another solo godzilla movie by Gareth, solo Kong movie by Jordan, another "war" by Micheal, and team up by Adam continuing from GxK. it would be awesome if some of them got second chances to their respective character they build.

I was thinking the same, a rotation of these directors to develop the identity that the MV already has. But I get that is no something that can happen, since I suppose these directors have their own goals in terms of filmmaking that not necessarily involve the MV.

7:10 "Mike. Let Them Fight" That was hilarious. A line that can be applied to both the MV, and the fandom really. Just enjoy the experience while still having your thoughts on it. This line of movies is one that has had so much impact in ten years, which sounds crazy in how in such a short and long time it has made people come together for the enjoyment of action, adventure, giant monsters and stories that click with both fans and non-fans. Also seeing the directors just talking about their experiences and having a unity as creators and for the MV as a whole is very inspiring and wholesome. I say keep the Monsterverse going as it is one of the coolest things going on with cinema in terms of franchises, IMO.

You know, people are well aware of the comparisions between GxK and Minus One, but not as many know that there's also a division within the Monsterverse fandom itself, with many comparing Wingard's movies to the others. So I'm glad that at least the directors are on the same page.

You guys have brought my dreams to a reality. Thank you so much! Michael Dougherty I personally thought did the best at making the monsters feel massive on screen. Also thanks to Bears score. Wingard does action like no other. Gareth's take is just suspenseful and beautiful. I really loved that movie in theaters. Jordan, I think, nailed Skull Island. I love all of these movies!

man at least we can see the growth in kong's development in terms of fighting godzilla or fighting battles in general especially against monsters that are his size in gvk and gxk, like the way adam has built it up like kong one day may eventually get that one W over godzilla but just not now. plus kong got the last victory scene or battle cry so to speak in gvk and has consistently been the main character instead of godzilla over the last two MV movies lol

It's so interesting that the directors are talking to the other directors that made their Monsterverse films because it's like you're trying to make friends but you're also going to war (in Gareth's words, Micheal let them fight). You're gonna have things you like about how the directors did what they did and others that you disagree on like with Skull Island's director. I was surprised to see him very salty that Kong lost to Godzilla because if wasn't given that axe or a weapon that could handle Godzilla's atomic powers then he would've been toast. I do hope the other directors will also return to make a Monsterverse film because whilst Wingard is making the studios money, he doesn't do a great job with many aspects of the film themselves (plot, human characters, Godzilla's character, etc).

So what a lot of people seem to miss about the Original King Kong vs Godzilla is that the film is _deliberately_ silly and comedic because it was a satire. If you've only seen the recut English version definitely give the Japanese version a watch. I mean, dear God the Kong suit is horrendous (no one in their right mind would defend that imo), but the film's weird, inconsistent tone is due to the editing done to it for dubbing, so at least the original version has a consistent tone lol Also, I'd like to see the full version of their talk because this was like an aroma diet, whetting the appetite before jerking the food away 😂😂

if a future director sees this.... can you make godzilla do something besides be angry? Because i would like to have his character to be more developed, like some backstory or smth some emotions like sadness or grief, y know humanize him more! basically make him have a good character like kong. a way to do this is to not just show godzilla when he does something important like kill scylla, you should have something like when kong was just eating and traveling with suko, y know normal stuff, just show godzilla having fun or something like that it would make us care even more about what he is doing how he is doing. if you want a villain that can build godzillas character more i suggest spacegodizlla as he would force goji to think about how he was goin tro fight forcing goji to use his brain and not just raw power to fight and most impotantly give spacegodzilla and goji some history so that godzilla doesnt wanna kill another member of his species.(also i recommend having spacegoji be the monster who ate a star, theres theories about that look it up) anyone else agree with this?

Literally no one was rude here, also...claiming anyone who thinks kong can beat godzilla doesn't know anything about both characters says more about your fanboy side coming to the surface than anything else. Don't complain when smaller apes (humans) beat godzilla but throw a riot when a bigger ape defeats godzilla. This is the same goji who lost to one of kong's ancestors before and lost to kong in round 2 which bruised his ego (confirmed by adam)

@@shaw8443 Buddy then explain a 1 eyed scientist killing godzilla in 1954...explain humans trapping godzilla in a volcano in 84...explain humans shooting godzilla down in 98, explain a dude in a submarine being responsible for why godzilla unintentionally blows himself up in 01, explain why a dude with anger issues successfully killed a clone of godzilla in 2017 and explain why a dude with war trauma blew up godzilla's head in 2023...... Anyone who's not a godzilla fanboy wouldn't get upset at godzilla losing to anyone because they would understand godzilla isn't immortal. He's not a God in a literal sense (unless he's ultima who was still beaten anyway), has weaknesses and has lost to BOTH other kaiju AND humans. My username is irrelevant to this so why bring that up? You would know kaiju have been defeated by kong or by humans many times in this genre if you grew up on both characters. Godzilla is only as strong as the writer makes him, godzilla in canon lost to a kong in his youth and lost to our current kong once and went berserk over it. No need to get upset an ape (or smaller apes) have a chance at beating a nuclear reptile.

But since you seem to think apes can't defeat godzilla then explain these examples Serizawa kills godzilla with the oxygen destroyer in gojira Godzilla is leas to a Volcano by humans and trapped in it by said humans in return of godzilla Goji is killed by missiles in 98, enough said Godzilla is defeated when a dude in a sub drills a hole into godzilla shoulder and when he tries to use his atomic breath, he unintentionally blows up in gmk Godzilla's clone is defeated by an eren Yeager ripoff.... Godzilla is defeated by a dude with war trauma...... Even in the MV, godzilla is nearly killed by the oxygen destroyer and nearly killed by the MAN MADE weapon known as mechagodzilla. Godzilla also losing to one of kong's ancestors in canon and losing to kong in their 2nd round only to go berserk because of his lost going to his ego. Only a fanboy would act like godzilla can't be defeated period.

Yes, Yes you can keep the tone of Godzilla 2014 and introduce Mothra Rodan and King Ghidorah, no excuses. also Godzilla is a giant fire breathing dinosaur hes just as fantasy as the other three. The main reason the Showa films became cheesy because Toho gave the producers little to no time or budget to make their movies. We can go back to the seriousness of G2014, Monarch Legacy of Monsters proved that.

@@Kronny23 Some of you guys have struggles with reading comprehension. I never equated box office with quality. Hell, GxK proves the two dont necessarily line up. Your reasoning is off as well. Being American doesn't automatically default one to a 'fan of Kong' status. G14 performed better in the US than KSI. Globally, however, KSI outperformed G14. The data for current day audience interest would indicate the exact opposite to your claim. 'Who beat who and which is stronger' doesn't matter. The point was the quality of storytelling and interest, as indicated by performance.

Toho's decision to make the original 1954 Gojira/Godzilla a giant monster movie was inspired by American monster films like King Kong and The Beast From 20,000 Fathoms. While King Kong vs. Godzilla was the film that really kickstarted the Godzilla franchise. So without Kong, Godzilla and the franchise itself probably wouldn't exist.

The first MonsterVerse movie that I left the theaters disappointed with was Godzilla vs. Kong. Later on it kinda grew on me but, after watching The New Empire I left so disappointed once again and i've rewatched it a few times with friends and I really don't like it. The screenplay and direction for New Empire was horrible making it the weakest entry in the MonsterVerse. We really need Edwards or Vogt-Roberts to come back if they do another one and people who can write a good screenplay.

You can dislike it but it really isn’t my the weakest entry in the Monsterverse. Within the last week it became the second highest grossing MV film and the highest grossing Godzilla movie ever. And we’re in an age where audiences know what they want to watch. So I hate to break it to you, but they’re most likely gonna bring Adam back for one final crossover movie, taking itself a bit more seriously however. Just so you know when we get more news or another announcement.

King of the Monsters had the most beautiful imagery. But the action scenes cut away too much to pointless reaction shots and the story had way too much useless human drama.
