Household animals like dogs and cats have been domesticated by humans for a looooong time, to a point where they would not be able to survive in the wild alone without their natural instinct. Most pets as well are treated well, they are given shelter, food, water, socialization, of course theyre occurences when pet owners turn out to be bad, however, in most cases there are pets being adopted by good people. When pets are trained they are given treats to reinforce that behaviour. Whereas, these animals, used in circuses, are SUPPOSED to be wild, they haven't been domesticated by humans, and they are beat or otherwise abused to get to do the things they do. There aren't any treats for reinforced behaviours, and they are more than likely mistreated behind the scenes with little to no home and fed either too little food or not the proper diets for them. So in the long run, no, it's actually not the same thing

I find it hilarious people will literally kill billions of ants with chemical warfare, eat meat from cows that were pushed through a slaughterhouse, and own pets, but think its over the line to have a few very well fed tigers with access to the greatest vets and highest quality food and usally trainers who love them, do tricks for two hours once a month

Unfortunately, the circus officials probably don’t care at all.

They are very well trained and so are the trainers to put out any fires, it looks dangerous but just like swiping a hand through a candle, they move far to fast to actual catch
