This video has come at the perfect time. I have been told that my 9-month old’s gross motor skills were measuring at about a 4-5 month-old level, and we were supposed to start physical & developmental therapy this month to help him. It has been postponed now until this is all over, which was a huge letdown because I didn’t know what else I could do to help him. This video and some other resources I have found have been answered prayers and a huge encouragement! ❤️

A favourite for our 22month old during quarantine has been a stepladder - a poor man's pikler triangle I guess 😂 He'll climb up and down it for ages (supervised) and then moves on to getting his stuffed toys and cars to "climb" too x

Thank you! You really reassured me regarding my very active 7 month old! He never focuses on shelf activities but has been crawling since 5 months and at 6 months began to pull to standing and even climbs up on our sofa! We set up lots of cushions for him to climb up and over and his favorite things to do are throw a ball and crawl after it. So I'm glad to hear that this is natural and ok for him to do rather than sitting and focusing on shelf activities. I want a pikler triangle so much, but they're so expensive... We'll try to diy as much as we can so he can enjoy movement more! Thank you as always for your videos! Stay safe!

Yesss my grandma that didn’t speak English when I was younger had one of those multi position couch thingys and I LOVED going to her house because of it. Literally all me and my cousin would play with at her house was that couch and the mint bush in her front yard (like literally inside the bush😂🙏🏼)

This video was so helpful!! So glad I came across this. My daughter has hardly even been wanting to go in her playroom, she only wants to move chairs around the kitchen, climb the couch and a big box we have for her and now I know we for sure need a pikler for her!

Thanks so much for the video! So helpful! I have one question- I want to buy a pickler triangle from WoodAndHearts but I’m not sure what size I should but. There is small, standard, and large. My baby is 14 months. I want something she can enjoy today but also grow into. For the small one - It seems like a lot of money to spend for something she might grow out of quickly. The big one we can use for a long time but I’m worried she won’t be able to enjoy it for some time. Is that true? Does the size of the triangle matter?

Just to comment on the tummy time - while this is not a position that the babies can go in and out of by themselves at a young age before they learn to roll over, this is SUPER important for their proper head, nack, shoulders and back muscles and what will allow them eventually to learn how to roll over and sit properly etc.

My son just turned 12mo couple days ago and Im struggling to get him engaged and motivated to crawl. He has been getting into position for several months but he just wont go past that. I know some babies skip that step 1 of my nieces did just that and was walking by 10mo. He does want to walk but only if he is holding from our hands and pretty much use us as his transportation lol... I feel he still needs to get stronger to be able to walk but just concerns me he wont be as interested to do it on his own and get too comfortable. His pediatrician said he will eventually do it. Some days I believe it and sometimes im scared he takes too long. I have tried A LOT of different methods but have not been successful. Can any parent relate? Any other advise that I possibly I havent heard?

IDK if it’s just me but I always felt the concept of leaching a child on their back until they could move themselves a bit odd. Technically they can’t put themselves in any position front or back 🤷🏽‍♀️. Plus developmentally there’s a lot to be said for giving as much tummy time as possible
